The maximum occupancy is 2 residents per room. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to assure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as ADLs abilities, sensory patterns, medication use, and health problems. Staff members receive training in a variety of areas. These areas include basic first-aid, an overview of the facility's policies and procedures manual, services provided by the facility, and the use of the abdominal thrust maneuver.
