This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include An RN or physician must review all residents’ medications at least every 90 days, medications in units shared by two residents must be kept in a locked container in the unit, and assistance with self-administration of medications. Staff are required to obtain training in a variety of areas. These areas include organization, goals of assisted living, philosophy, and minimum of 6 hours annually.
