The services offered often involve aid with ADLs. Occupants may be kept under monitoring and assessment. In some situations, communities may offer skilled nursing, hospice, or respite. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. There must be one bath or shower for every 1 residents and one toilet for every 1 residents. Staff must obtain training in a variety of fields. These include: residents’ rights, psychosocial aspects of aging, recognizing signs and symptoms of dementia, and need for professionall help.
