Families searching for assisted living in Alabama will be welcomed by a mild climate and a variety of lifestyle options. In the state’s northern counties, the Tennessee River and Appalachian Mountains pass through and provide an abundance of beautiful scenery and opportunities for outdoor activities. Temperatures rise gradually as you head south toward the coast, where the white sandy beaches of Gulf Shores attract millions of visitors throughout the year. Living costs are relatively low, too, making Alabama an ideal retirement destination.
Currently, A Place for Mom partners with more than 100 senior living communities in Alabama that provide assisted living.
The median monthly cost of assisted living in Alabama is about $3,200.

Our family is thrilled with the Terrace! We visited other area assisted living communities. No one was as friendly! All of the workers & residents we visited with said how much they loved it, no complaints!! Everyone was happy and loving and fun. [name removed] was amazing, she helped us through every step, never made us feel like a bother. She and everyone there made us all family right away. We felt so welcome [name removed] did everything she could to put our hearts and minds at ease with this big decision to move my grandmother. [name removed], the nurse was attentive and helpful. We have had a bad experience in another state and paid more money. Everything about the people here will help your heart feel at ease with this transition. This was one of the most difficult decisions for us to make. another thing you may not consider when you are shopping is the food.. this is good southern cooking! beautiful front porch for afternoon sittin! If you want the next best thing to

This community is clean and it is a lock down community. The food was not good as she felt it was to mushy. I would recommend this community.
Read moreThank you so very much to the folks at Somerset Assisted Living for taking care of our parents. Our parents have been living at Somerset for over 20 months. They moved to Somerset while their home was being renovated from hurricane [name removed]. Our father is still living there, but our mother because of her Dementia and other health issues has been moved to a local Memory Care Unit. Our father on his own accord after being married for 57 years to our mother and never being separated has opted to continue living at Somerset. He is very well taken care of, and is very satisfied with his amount of care. Thank you all for not throwing stones at our family when difficult situations have arisen. You all just seen to take it in stride, and still give us undivided support. They are informed, trained and knowledgeable with handling elderly folks. It has been a privilege to be associated with you. Taking care of a loved one is very stressful on all involved. Thank you for all you do! You all are much appreciated.
