Review ofThe Villa Personal Care Home

The staff members have gone above and beyond so far, we have nothing but good things to say. The administrator again we can't say enough great things. The community is very well maintained, and there are a lot of functions and different activities for the residents. They have bingo and exercises classes every morning for an hour. The owner at is a doctor and his wife decorates the place so beautifully, and every season she sets up holiday decorations to make the community feel more like a homey. She also coordinates with the women either every other week or once a month and treats them to a spa day where they all get their nails down at the community and get treats after.

We chose Elmcroft of Altoona because we did a lot of research and it came down to what we were getting for the amount of money that we would be paying. It is a very nice facility, a lot of our relatives who went to visit her, that was their first comment about how nice it was compared to other places that they have been at. I would definitely recommend to others looking.

This is a great place. They were very welcoming and very willing to work with our unique situation, which was very much appreciated. We were very much treated like individuals, and they took the time to work through unique details with us. They were incredibly caring, and they made a difficult transition very successful. Our loved one enjoyed the activities very much. She particularly enjoyed the exercise program and liked to be active. She also enjoyed the social community aspects of being around other people and being able to talk with them. Her room was incredibly clean, and somebody came into room daily to make her bed. We were very impressed. There were never any smells, her bathroom was clean, and everything was always immaculate.

We appreciate the good work of the staff, their caring nature and taking care of our mom. A special shout-out to Alisha for her communication and taking care of my mom. I know she really appreciates the attention she receives from Alisha as well as everyone else. My sister and I live far away in Boston, and it's reassuring to know that our mom gets a lot of care, attention, and interaction with staff. Thanks to the staff for the great work they do. I think it is really hard work. The What's App calls are a great lifeline. I will say my mom isn't wild about the meals. I didn't review this as I don't have any personal knowledge, just what she tells us. And, there are times we don't get a response to questions we email.

I thought they did a wonderful job, for the price, and for the level of extra care my loved one needed with Alzheimer's. It was hard not being able to go in during Covid, but from everything I experienced and saw, I'd say they did an excellent job. Most of my interaction was with the administrator, and she was very good. She always called me back and was very on top of everything. When I was able to make one final visit right before my loved one passed, she seemed very comfortable and well taken care of. Harmony House Manor was an excellent value. And they had no Covid cases the entire time my loved one was there.
