A delightful place and close to relatives. I could enjoy living there. Everything is well organized. There is only a kitchenette but small additions could make it very usable. The biggest problem is the availability of apartments.Reviewed on A Place For Mom
My mother has been a resident of Pinecrest in Hickory, NC for over 5 years. Since COVID-19 the service provided by the company that runs Pinecrest has been substandard. It’s all about collecting the most money for the least amount of service. They no longer provide transportation or housekeeping. The meals are delivered to the room and residents are expected to provide their own plates and utensils and do their own washing up. I’ve never been more disappointed.

Hello Erin, thank you for your review. Due to current protocols, we have been sending up meals to our residents in containers and collecting those containers from outside their doors once they are finished. If needed, we do have plastic utensils available for residents. At this time, housekeeping is scheduled on a bi-weekly basis, and transportation to doctors' appointments is available by request. If you would like to discuss your concerns further, please do not hesitate to reach out to the local team directly. They would be happy to speak with you. Thank you
Pinecrest is a beautiful place but not suited for anyone with dementia. Even though we were told they had people with dementia there and could handle it I spent a month there with my dad because he wouldn’t sleep at night. There were days when his only meal was a half of a sandwich and soup. That is not adequate for some of these people. My biggest problem is they have no security at this place. There are a lot of seniors and some are disabled. They need security there.

Hi Anita, we're disappointed to hear of the negative experience you had at our location. Our residents are served 3 meals a day in the dining room and meals can be delivered to residents for an additional fee. The community doors are locked at night when the last member of management leave in the evening. Residents have a lock card to let them in the building and that is the only way to enter the building in the evening. Residents also have a device that can put them in touch with emergency services 24/7. We appreciate you bringing this experience to our attention. If you are willing, please contact us at [removed] so we can work towards a resolution. We look forward to hearing from you.
