The more involved I was with the facility, the better it was. Having everyone know I made an appearance on a regular basis certainly helped and the staff appreciate it as well. The activities they did were redundant, but they did them 3 times a day which I liked. She said the food that she had was good and if she did not like it then they would make her something else. I would highly recommend Canterbury on the Lake to other families.... Read more

My loved one always thought this is where she would go when the time came, since she had several friends who had gone here. But the timing didn't work out. There was a 6 month waiting list when we toured. Also, it was more money, but that wouldn't have been an issue had the timing worked out. From my perspective, it smelled more like a nursing home than others we looked at. But it was clean, and in general, everything was great. The food was good. And it seemed to be a place that was well liked by its residents.

This is a GREAT place to live. As a senior gets older, they need more care at different levels. At Canterbury on the Lake, the resident can receive the care that they need. All of the staff is extremely knowledgable and very kind to all of the residents.

Our family had an in person tour and looking at the memory care place it just seemed like it was a little out dated and we did not like where it was located. The residents seemed separated from the others and it felt like a dungeon. The staff were super pleasant but from looking at the memory care side we were not impressed. We are sure the assisted living side was different.
I have been impressed with Canterbury on the Lake. It is well staffed, well maintained, clean, and set up in Senior friendly ways. The residents have daily activities to participate in. The staff are helpful and professional.

Very nice property and the continuation of care was a nice selling point. Just a bit above moms budget. Recommend visiting Canterbury if you’re looking.

We chose Canterbury on the Lake because it provided more of what we were looking for as far as the ability to provide all levels of care. If we needed to move my mom, we could move her within the facility. The room sizes here seem to be adequate for her needs. I haven't eaten here but have seen the menu, it looks pretty good. Overall, I would recommend to others looking.

My father has been at Canterbury on the Lake for 3 months and I couldn't be more pleased. He is in their Memory Care facility and the staff is excellent. There are activities on a regular basis that he can participate in if he chooses. The staff is attentive to his eating habits and he likes the food. The atmosphere is cheery and the place is clean. He has learned that if he needs assistance and pulls the cord in his room someone comes immediately. Canterbury on the Lake has given my family peace of mind knowing that our dad is getting exceptional care.

The facility was clean, bright and cheery. I especially loved the murals on many of the walls, depicting outdoor scenes. I was impressed with the section which looked like a neighborhood shopping area where the gift shop, beauty parlor, clinic, etc. were located. The residents I observed seemed happy. The staff was very friendly.

This is a very nice community. It is a nice and clean community, everything appeared well maintained. The staff I met was very kind and informative. This is more of an independent living community. I didn't think my parents were ready for that. Overall it was a nice tour.

The staff is very caring. My Mom moved into assisted living about 3 weeks ago. The staff already knows her likes/dislikes. She is well cared for.

I looked at the Canterbury. It was too over the top for me. When I went in, I had to go way in the back. I didn't get to go into the front where all the fanciness is. I sat and waited and waited, but nobody ever came to talk to me, so I just left.

We toured Canterbury on the lake, during our search for a suitable place for our loved one. It was very nice. The cost was a little higher than we were looking for.

My mom moved here over 2 years ago and the transformation in her is phenomenal. She is so happy living among her peers in her own apartment! Canterbury offers so many choices in activities such as card groups, walking, gardening, bingo, crafts, putting contests, bocce ball, shuffle board, trips, outings, BBQ dinners, a dinning room with a menu to choose your meals and the choice to eat your meals at the time you choose - no assigned dining hour. The residents suggestions do matter and many new programs and activities are implemented based on the their ideas. Living here truly gives her the freedom to become as involved in activities as she wishes. The best part is knowing that she is in a safe environment which she enjoys! I am glad we chose Canterbury on the Lake, it is a wonderful community.

We did not have a good impression of this community. The facility was too large, with too many confusing hallways. The staff were not particularly warm. And a resident would have to move from one room to another as they need increased services. Not a good match for my Mother whatsoever. Plus, the monthly fee is not inclusive. Meals are extra and each bit of food you eat in the dining room is billed like in a restaurant.
