Our tour was very nice, but then they told me that after 6:00, there isn’t anyone in the office or anyone there. If something happens, the maintenance guy is there during that time. They give the residents a call button to wear around their neck, but what if they weren’t wearing their call button and were on the floor in the hallway? No one would ever see them to help unless another resident came out of their room.
After touring this community, I would seriously consider placing my loved one here. 3 chef-prepared meals everyday, community activities and friendly residence. The rooms are spacious and inviting. The staff is very helpful and caring. There are many amenities too.
In addition to the high quality of the physical facility at Bethel Park Retirement, and in addition to it’s beautiful surroundings, grounds, and especially it’s extremely convenient location , the most compelling aspect of Bethel Park Retirement is our exceptional staff. The expectations and standards required by Holiday for employment must be extremely high, resulting in a staff of simply THE most committed individuals we could ever hope for. Often relatives of residents become residents themselves. This is perhaps THE most telling endorsement of all. My father was a resident here years ago. After my father passed away, I was personally assured by The Management Team: “[name removed], when you and your wife are ready to move, we will have you room ready for you.” And, now, here we are! My wife and I have done extensive research of Independent Living Communities in The Pittsburgh area. And, believe me, the number of facilities is increasing exponentially in this area as our population ages. Do your homework...and...we’ll see you here!
The community is in a nice setting and the people that work there are nice and helpful. The food is decent. My loved one is a one bedroom apartment. The room includes a kitchenette, The shower is a walk in and there is no step.
I enjoy not having to cook for myself. The food is very good and I have a wide variety of items. The staff is always pleasant and I am grateful for all they do. [names removed] are my "go-to" folks - they're the best.
The management has done a great job keeping the residents safe during the pandemic. The managers almost daily communications to the family of the residents had been appreciated and comforting.
Bethel Park Retirement Community, Bethel Park PA 15102, it’s one of the most well run retirement communities I have ever experienced. They care about their residents and provide service as though they are their own family members. They are extremely friendly and accommodating to guests and family members, and very conservative and careful regarding the current COVID-19 situation. They inform us daily via email of the facility status and there have been no cases of illness there.
The management and staff at Holiday Retirement Bethel Park are very professional and friendly. They take a personal interest in every resident and make them feel safe, secure and special. The meals are excellent and the facility is beautifully maintained. They also keep the families updated on events and resident activities through frequent emails. My mother has lived there for almost 10 years and loves it!
My favorite part of living in this independent facility is I am able to come and go whenever I want to. They serve 3 hot meals prepared everyday with several meals to chose from. Linen changed every week and light housekeeping every week. The whole staff is helpful and friendly. They always go above and beyond what is expected. We have an activity room where several choices are made everyday so you can keep busy and interacting with others and make lots of new friends. I find everyone so friendly and welcoming making adjusting to living here very easy. On good days there is a nice walking path around the building with benches here and there along the way to rest on. And a comfortable front porch to sit and rock, read, and visit with friends. There’s a library with lots of books, a tv/movie area and a billiard area with a vending machine filled with snacks to chose from. Also there is coffee, tea, and snacks in the dining room to chose from all day and evening. Entertainment weekly, and services for shopping and medical appointments for the convenience of the residents. This is a wonderful and comfortable place to be when the time comes where we have to leave our home. It’s been a good fit and I’m glad my family chose this Holiday facility for my home!
Well managed, neat appearance, good staff who is patient with everyone (which we often need). The building is always clean and need, enjoyable programs, a great variety of food. A nice place to enjoy a wide variety of entertainment or a wide variety of interests in other words. Overall a wonderful home & a great place to be with my new family! Great brothers & sisters.
Five years ago, I moved to Bethel Park Retirement to be close to my youngest daughter because I had some health issues. I'm still here. Here's why. For me, I use the place as though I lived in an apartment or condo. Because I actually am able to live independently. The cost allows my mate and me to travel, dine out, attend concerts, plays, etc. I was disappointed that probably only 10-12 residents here live independently. Most residents do not drive and need some kind of assistance and are dependent on the bus service and planned activities offered here. To attain the kind of nutrition I prefer, I sometimes use my microwave and crock pot and supplement the diet offered here with lots of fruit and vegetables (especially greens). The food is good for institutional food. The Chef provides lunch monthly when my bridge group meets here. The cost for the guests is minimal. The Activities Director is like "a bright flower" or "a breath of fresh air" and provides good activities for those residents who do not leave the facility. We do not participate in many of them. Maybe this review will help you decide whether to live in Bethel Park
I am most satisfied with my decision to move from my home to this facility. I am most satisfied with my decision to move into this facility/ The staff is most helpful and cpurteus without being intrusive. The location makes it easy for my family to visit. The price is within my limited means, My fellow residents are mostly leasant and helpful. Transportation is available for medical appointments and church services. Jn all, I would say that you have a "gem" for those retirees who are generally self-sufficient,
I find the residents and employees friendly.
Helped my brother find an assisted living home after he had a heart attack. Did not have to consider health care services because at this time he did not need those services. Bethel Park Retirement has met his needs for housekeeping and 3 daily meals. His ground floor apartment also has an outside private entrance which he likes. The location is very close to shopping and many churches. He complained about the homes transportion but we attained him a vehicle which can be parked near his apartment. The monthly rent seems high but after looking at several other places was the most reasonable in the area.
Had my parents there for about 6 months before I moved them to assisted living. Bethel facility was great, staff are wonderful. Very pleased
Liked location people and events Ltd to do but can also be independent some apartments are small but well taken care of

Hi there, thank you for visiting our community. It's great to hear you enjoyed your visit. We strive to provide a clean, well taken care of place for our residents.
I had a 9am appt with [Removed] who didn't come in she got called away to an off site mtg. I was able to tour with the general manager who was able to answer my questions. I think this could be a viable option pending VA benefit contribution which needs further exploration.
I like to care that my mom is getting from this community. The staff is always helpful and kind to my mom's needs. We find the community to be clean and well maintained. The activities are offered for her to participate. We like the size of her room and she is pleased with the care that she is receiving. We would recommend this community for the care of a loved one
My grandmother seems to be settling in really well at Bethel Park. It is a beautiful and well-maintained community. The landscaping is just beautiful. It is very clean and smells good. The food is not the same quality of food she is used to. Only at breakfast do they provide other options for your meals. She likes her apartment which we helped her decorate. They are working with her to get the paint out of the carpet after they painted. They offer a lot of various activities for residents who want to participate. They also offer transportation to places nearby for the residents to go shopping and other excursions. The staff is very friendly when we come to visit. We chose this community out of all the ones we had viewed online because it was the nicest and the location was convenient for her family to come and visit.
We toured this community for care. The staff was able to answer the questions.and showed us that the community is clean and maintained. We like the list of activities that are offered. We would recommend that families tour this nice community for the care of a loved one
