Excellent care
I cannot say enough good things about the care my grandmother has received at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa. The staff are incredible and the management goes above and beyond to make sure the seniors are taken care of. The atmosphere is very inviting and comfortable. We consider this place our home away from home because they care so much and take care of the residents like family. We love this place!

Excellent care
I cannot say enough good things about the care my grandmother has received at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa. The staff are incredible and the management goes above and beyond to make sure the seniors are taken care of. The atmosphere is very inviting and comfortable. We consider this place our home away from home because they care so much and take care of the residents like family. We love this place!

Dissatisfied with level of care
My love one was placed here on several occasions over the past few years for short-term stays. The facility appeared to have an open atmosphere of workers during the day, but after 5pm the facility looks different with fewer caregivers. At first, everything appeared okay. On stay 1-2-3, my love one did okay. Visit 4-5, a different matter! I requested my love one stay in the memory care unit because I thought there would be better care for Alzheimer patients. I was definitely wrong! They did not ensure my love one had enough liquids to drink and they became dehydrated. Less than a month after being released, my love one came down with a UTI and was severely dehydrated and hospitalized with sepsis. Because I didn't know who to blame at the time, I sent him back for visit 5. This time, I visited and saw with my own eyes how they were treating my love one. The nurse/CNA put my love one in a wheel chair the entire stay. They did not give adequate liquids to ensure hydration and I witnessed a CNA improperly clean a soiled depends. At pick up,my love one looked confused, lifeless and was unable to get out of the wheelchair and walk. From the top administrators down to the caregivers, in my opinion, they don't appear to be concerned about the well-being of their clients. For these reasons, I would not recommend sending anyone you care about here.

Charming, full of life
We moved my mom into the independent living at DelMar Gardens. We are all amazed at the choice of meals (extensive menu), the varied and frequent activity options, and the attentiveness of the staff. I find the place absolutely charming and am glad that my mom has adjusted so quickly and is enjoying her new home.

delmar sucks
checked in my mother to memory care of Delmar Garden.
physically she was OK, only mentally had issues.
in short period of time, she broke her thumb, lost her dentures, had bruises on her face, badly infected foot, loss of teeth and broken hip. do you want me to go on? do not take your loved ones to that [removed] Place. the only thing place is good for putting food in front of patients and that's all. place sucks big time.

Caring and kind
My Mom seems happy here and has made friends. She likes the meals, bingo games and Sunday services. The staff is friendly and management keeps me informed on Mom. It is hard to give up independence but, there is peace of mind that she is cared for 24/7.

Good food and plenty of activities
My Mom lives here currently and things seem to be going well. The staff is okay, they seem to be pretty nice and I haven’t had any problems with them yet. The food is good and they have a few options to choose from. There have been a couple of times where the cleanliness has been questionable, but they’ve taken care of it. They have a special activity room where they can play different games, bingo, movies, and they have a special ice cream hour. Overall, I would recommend this place.

Awesome For Rehab
I was in Delmar Gardens for rehab after falling and breaking both of my legs. As a younger person I was a little uneasy going to a nursing home for rehab but it was the best thing that could have happened for me. Other than some bumps in the first few days with coordinating everything I needed and a couple of lackluster aides, it was a good experience. The physical and occupational therapy providers were outstanding!!! They made sure that I had everything that I needed to be comfortable while I recovered. When I made it to my room where I would stay for the duration of my stay I had great care from [Removed] and the rest of the aides and nurses. The cleaners came in everyday to clean my room and were very friendly. The rooms could use some updating, as they look like they were last updated when the Golden Girls were on, but mine was clean and had everything I needed. This was a very challenging time in my life and those at Delmar Gardens made it as pleasurable a stay as was possible considering the circumstances.

Worst decision you'll ever make
My father died at this facility. The staff frequently ignored and avoided him. They often took 30+ minutes to answer a call light. Falsely documented giving him water and numerous times sent him to the emergency room to find he was dehydrated. At one point we kept noticing a wet spot on the ceiling and upon inspection found mold growing in the ceiling right above his bed. I wish I would have never considered placing him at this facility and I truly believe he would still be here today had I chose somewhere else.

Very nice appearance!
My mother is being very well taken care of in this community. The place is very nice and maintained very well. It is aesthetically pleasing. Everyone is very friendly, but the place is a little expensive, but I can not complain because they are taking very good care of her.
