We picked this community, because it was the nearest location. It's a very quiet, restful environment, with helpful employees. I would recommend to others.

I would give a 5 in every category, especially the staff, they are super. They are the reason I hesitate to move him to a place with more room, especially outdoor space. It's a little small and I wish there...

My aunt lives at The Courtyards in Knoxville. Every time I call and talk with her. She goes on about how amazing the food tastes. She says it's homecooked, always fresh and hot, and how amazing the staff is.

This was a good community that was the right size. The fees kept going up due to the care level of my loved one.

My brother thought it was a nice facility. We think it may be a fit. The food at Princeton is a real concern so he checked out the meal situation at The Courtyards and found it much more appealing.

Reasonably priced, considerate staff, food OK. Small patient populations (15-20) in each of 3 'houses' for advancing needs. Total package well above average.

My mother seems to be doing well here at this community. She is still adjusting, but I know she in good hands. This a lovely community, everything is very nice and clean, and well maintained. The aids are great, and very willing to work with me to figure out the best care plan for her. It has been a very positive experience, and I would recommend this community.

The food is great. My mom however, is an amazing cook and she would like it to be seasoned better. They offer a variety of activities for the residents to enjoy. A musician comes out twice a month and plays the guitar and piano. They take residents out on trips to the lake. For the care that they provide they are reasonable priced. The staff did a an amazing job getting mom moved in and we are satisfied with the care they provide.

I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. The facility was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional. We ended up selecting another community, but this is somewhere I would have considered as an option for my loved one.

When you enter the Courtyard Garden, you can feel the warmth and love your loved ones will receive . The staff has always made me feel like this was as much my home as my Mother's anytime of the day I am welcomed to visit or stay with her all day. Always keeping me informed to her needs and health related issues that might arise . I like that it is a small resident community, It feels more like your families home than a assisted living facility . Mom calls it home and so do I . I looked at several community before we chose The Courtyards and not one of them could compare for our needs. Find out for yourself, best of luck.

He didn't like it at all, this was early on in the process and he understood that we were moving in this direction and he was putting his feet down very hard. I found it a little too formal, a little too cold, but that's my specific personality type.

The staff was overworked, underpaid, and it showed in their lack of care. My loved one had fallen multiple times and I wasn't informed until I complained about it. I was given a silly excuse when I asked how she had fallen. They didn't make sure she had her teeth in her mouth before feeding, so she had food enlarged in her throat and had to have an operation to remove it. They lost her hearing aids. Staff wasn't friendly or sweet. I can't comment on the food other than it seemed okay, not great. The price kept increasing. It increased, I think 2 times in the year and few months that she was there. Staff changed frequently. I didn't care for it. The cleanliness was okay. I had to complain once that my loved one smelled like she hadn't had a shower, and her clothes weren't changed.

My loved one was previously a resident at The Courtyards at Johnson City- The Gardens for a brief time and overall the experience was okay. I'm sure it's a pretty good place, but I guess I expected them to be able to handle his behaviors since they accepted him. The last day he was there he had a procedure and anesthesia that day and that night was more confused and combative and struck one of the workers. They sent him out and would not take him back. They didn't really seem trained to deal with his behaviors when he shutdown. Also, I noticed some staff baby talking some of the clients. I know cognitively they're impaired, but they're not babies.

Focus on how many staff they have. Should have enough to keep focus on residents. I do not recommend them, Issues with staffing and supervision will cause me to look elsewhere.

I would have ranked The Courtyards at Knoxville with all 4's and 5 stars if it were not for a couple of caregivers that have the wrong attitude. Also, I believe there is a lack of training with the staff that results in the mishandling of dementia and Alzheimer's residents.

Not very good management - they have lied to me and are unresponsive to concerns. If they worked for me, I would fire them. One worker on the night shift is very hateful with the patients. Workers are not trained well enough to assess a patient in case of medical problems. Even for minor incidents, they just call am ambulance and send patients to the hospital.

Our family had an in person tour with The Courtyards at Johnson City and it seemed spread out and dark. The rooms seemed too much like a hospital setting. However the activity director seemed great.
My husband was there a day and half and pulled out his catheter and they would not allow him to come back. They said they were unable to care for him. Got him a special bed that goes up and down, had paid for the full month and they wouldn't provide any form of refund at all.
