The Denver Art Museum contains over 68,000 pieces and displays a stunning collection of Native American art, displaying works from many different tribes of the North American regions. For a stroll through the city replete with shopping and people-watching, visit the 16th Street Mall. A pedestrian mall featuring hundreds of trees, thousands of flowers, and a pathway designed by renowned architect I.M. Pei, the 16th Street Mall is a must-visit destination for an afternoon walk or a stop at one of the numerous area cafes. Train and history buffs can make a short trip outside the city to the town of Golden to visit the Colorado Railroad Museum, which features over 100 locomotives and cars, as well as photos and historic artifacts, on display in a setting reminiscent of an 1880s rail depot.
