Overall we have had a good experience. The transition for my brother was much more difficult than we imagined and he ended up moving to assisted living after only 2.5 months. In hindsight I wish he had made the move to the retirement community sooner. That said, I would tell folks to expect that the transition might be difficult and require patience to navigate.

My loved one likes the food, it was excellent. It's a great place. This community, met all requirements. My loved is doing very well, and they could not have been more responsive and caring afterwards. The staff was completely helpful. The people in the dining room were the most accomodating. The people were friendly and the nurses were very responsive and knowlegdeable. Everything was clean. It's very inexpensive. I would recommend to other families.

They are very helpful at coordinating care. It's a very pleasant place to be. They have a daily activities schedule which include baking doggie cookies for the local pet shelter and other things. Communication between the community and myself is pretty good, they usually contact me with any issues. If I reach out to them first, they are responsive. My loved ones apartment is spacious; it has a living room, a bedroom, an easily accessible bathroom, and a small kitchenette area with cabinet and counter space. It's a pretty modern, updated nice place - and it's a move up for her. Overall I would recommend Pennsylvania Place to others.

The Carrington at Lincolnwood is a newer facility so right when you walk in it feels like an apartment building you would find downtown. It is open, the staff are very welcoming and it is just very inviting. The residents living there seem very comfortable and agree that it has that homier feel to it. It is a lot of money but compared to other places in the area that offer the same thing but for more, the value here is good. The food we think right now is okay, however we do understand they are managing all the covid stuff and stuffing. They do have activities going on.

The food is good but sometimes with the service they get the orders wrong and the meals have to be redone. However, our loved ones absolutely love The Carrington, they have high ceilings and nice wide hallways. The apartments have nice big windows that brings in a lot of bright and natural light. Also, every time we go to visit everyone is out of their rooms, mingling and playing games which we really like to see.

The service in the dining room has been relatively poor due to not enough staff. The community has done great at the reopening of the community and dining room. They did a great job at keeping the residents and staff safe during COVID. They are occasionally running low on supplies for nursing care.

I think this is a good option, and especially considering they are doing a lifetime rate lock-in presently. the facilities and care seem great, its a larger community but new so there is diversity in the residents. The pool is nice, as are the apartments (including ADA). Only drawback is no staffed coffee shop.

I chose The Carrington at Lincolnwood because it was a newer facility as well as the fact that it is open and spacious. The apartment sizes here are excellent for what I need. It has been a good experience and I would recommend to others looking.

At first we couldn't visit inside during Covid, so we had outdoor visits, which they later moved indoors to the restaurant area when it got colder The staff was very friendly. Everyone went out of their way to be friendly and cordial. They knew my name and my loved one's name, and I was only there once a month. So I thought that was outstanding. Come to found out later, we received a letter asking for gratuities based on level of care required for your loved one- which probably went to the aides and such. But still, that was a bit of a disappointment. But overall the staff was very good and very helpful. Everyone knew their jobs. They were courteous and tried to work with you. Sometimes I wish they had gotten back to me sooner, especially when trying to schedule visits. So I think communication could be a little better. I just felt that they were understaffed. Meals were okay, and they were brought to the rooms during Covid. Activities were limited, and we were promised once our loved one moved from the independent side to the assisted side that he could be brought over to the independent side to play pool, but I don't think that ever did happened.

The staff is really caring and there is one in particular that is very kind to our father and goes the extra to be his friend.

The community is marvelous they were recall excellent. It is an extremely friendly place and the staff members are very helpful

I’ve been here in Independent Living for 2-1/2 years and I’m very happy here. I chose The Carrington because it was close to family and was built for senior living not a conversion from other types of buildings. The staff is fantastic and always there to help. The amenities are great and the apartments are very nice. During the past several months with Covid they have taken great care to protect us and keep us safe. They coordinated with a provider to get us our vaccinations right here. I am very happy and grateful that I found such a caring wonderful place to live. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, fantastic place to live.

Overall we have been very happy with them, and the care services are excellent. Unfortunately due to covid the dining room has been closed, but they are delivering the food to their rooms and they still seem to be pretty good, and we think the value is reasonable.

Everything about The Carrington is outstanding. The building and the grounds are impeccably maintained; staff is to a person, cordial and professional and dining service is excellent with a wide selection (even during Covid challenges). Care and effort to keep things "nice" were evident. Residents are active, interested and interesting people. I have not been disappointed by my choice to live here!

I feel so fortunate that for the past 2 years I have been a part of a people and community focused environment. The spirit is friendly, attentive, responsive and empathic. We reach toward one another. The interior spaces also reflect this spirit - made spacious art filled hallways, full gym, salt water pool, movie theater, 3 gracious dining rooms. Love watching mama and baby ducklings and goslings in the retention pond outside our 30 foot balcony. Favorite activities : Variety of classes, Happy hours, entertainment and culture focused day trips. Come join us!

Almost at my 2 -mark of living at the Carrington, and I can honestly say moving here was an exceptionally good decision. Even under the influence of our current pandemic, the administration has been very transparent and have made good decisions for all the residents. Keeping us up to date on mask wearing, social distancing and testing. We are a diverse population and have been able to feel very welcome in all activities and listened to at the resident's meetings. With a strong resident council that work with us all to bring our ideas to the administration. The apartments, be it a studio, one bedroom or two bedrooms are complete with everything from a dishwasher to laundry. The bathrooms are spacious, and the patios or balconies are large and a real bonus in allowing a view of nature. I can honestly say you will find many things to take part in and enjoy in the 5 -star community.

We have lived here for 2 years. They are the happiest years of our lives! The activities are neverending, including weekly and daily concerts, lectures, classes, and movies. The fitness center with the 80-degree saltwater pool will rival any health club. Most importantly are the wonderful friendships we've formed with the very diverse and interesting fellow residents of equal importance is the friendly, kinda, caring, and always helpful remarkable staff!

We feel safe and secure. 3) The residents of the community are friendly and we feel like a family. 4) All of our needs are addressed. We have transportation available, good food to eat, and many activities to choose from. The Carrington At Lincolnwood exceeds our expectations!

I have made a lot of new friends since I moved here 7 months ago. The staff is kind and courteous and I'm so glad that I chose to live here. I love the beautiful balcony that faces a pond that is full of ducks. My bedroom is very spacious and modern and has a lot of sunlight. My friends love coming to my new home to visit me!
