Village Park Peachtree Corners review

The food is not consistent, it is great one day and bad the next. The rooms are excellent, they are nice, spacious and secure. However, at the moment due to the high turnover rate we would not recommend this community.

This place was ok, but the apartment layouts are not good. They have wasted space in the 'kitchen' area that should be devoted to floor space in the sitting room. This holds true for both the one bedroom and studio models.

Beautiful. Clean. Warm. Friendly. I loved the architecture and floor plans. Dining areas were nice and well thought out. I like the workout room - but are 2 treadmills enough? Cons: location - my parents feel it’s a bit too far from Clairmont Rd where their church is and too far from Gwinnett Medical and their doctors. Not very scenic. My mom loves gardens and trees - if you stand outside the bungalow and cottages, you can hear the GA 400 traffic wizzing by on the other side of a thin boundary of trees!

It's still a construction site; looks like it will be a very nice facility, but it is sandwiched between the highway and a major road, with no additional acreage for trails or nature. Layouts/floor plans seem well thought out, but square footage maxes out at 1400 for villas.

Our family experience did not meet the advertised amenities due to staff service issues in cleanliness, and dining.

Unfortunately they have serious issues with staffing. The offering does not match the advertising. We are working through it. We do love the location

Essentially an Apartment Complex

They sold us on Village Park of Alpharetta being optimal for Assisted Living because of the integration with Independent Living, but there is a huge lack of support for those in Assisted Living units. The Assisted Living add-ons, like medication management, are inconsistently administered and are not tailored to the individual needs of each resident, which is a huge issue when you have a loved one with a condition like dementia. They are short staffed and I'm surprised at how little they pay the support staff taking care of the residents, especially considering how much it costs to live there. There is also a huge issue with communication between staff as well as with the POA/caregiver for Assisted Living residents. I spend so much time tracking people down to understand what is going on. The staff acts like my inquiries are an inconvenience to them and that I'm asking for too much, when my main asks are for them to do the tasks we're paying for. We're considering moving my loved one after just a short time at this community because of how detrimental it has already been to their health. This is essentially an apartment complex. I would not recommend Village Park of Alpharetta to someone in Assisted Living or Memory Care, or to someone who will potentially need these in the future.

Not so great

It was great as an independent living facility - but once my mother need extra help, they failed. I saved pictures of the dust and mold that has accumulated in her apartment (she has macular degeneration and couldn’t see it herself) - a caregiver actually made her come to the hallway at midnight to take her medicines (after being released from the hospital) because the caregiver was afraid of her cat ……. So many stories - had to move her home because I couldn’t trust them anymore- corporate spends more time on Alpharetta than Peachtree Corners. Too many other options in the area ! .

Don't be fooled

This community was understaffed My loved one did not get to participate in the activities but the clander looked really full with things for them to do. The community is pretty, and the apartments are pretty but they are understaffed and not ready to call themselves an assisted living community. If you want to live independent then this is the place but for this amount of money and the care that is missing it is not it.

And this is the FIRST WEEK!!!!!

Good evening! This is a new facility that is opening during a pandemic. I do not want to sound critical but I have 28 years of BSN, RN experience. I have worked in sub-acute/long term care facilities in the past. I currently work at a University Hospital in Atlanta. I like bullet points so this is my list: CONS: *[date removed] My parents are allowed to move their belongings into their apartment. The movers, are accosted by the Director, [name removed], that the luggage cart they are using cost $1000 and DO NOT USE it to move furniture. I TOTALLY AGREE....but the way you talk to people is important. I personally felt embarrassed as she spoke to the movers in a condescending tone. *[date removed] Prior to moving in my Mother asked two different people on two different occasions what should they do about their two dogs during their five day quarantine after moving in. They could not get an answer "as no one had asked that question before". So they moved in Monday, [date removed] at 1:00 p.m. only for me to get a text later that afternoon, from my Mother, asking where they could board their dogs as they could not leave their room. Needless to say I went after work to pick up their dogs (I live in an apartment that only allows 2 dogs and I already have one) and take them home with me. When I arrived at VPM to pick the dogs up I was informed that my parents would not be allowed to leave the facility until [date removed]. I replied that I was pretty sure my Mother did not know that. When administration asked my Mom if she knew that she replied "no I did not". The conversation went on...only to discover that my BOTH my parents have doctors appointments on [date removed]. We learned that they would have to quarantine again for five days, no instructions on dog care or repeat COVID testing. *[date removed] My parents are scheduled to be re-tested for Covid. The director, [name removed], reports that the kits they received had blood and hair on them. I will be asking Tuesday [date removed] "who is their supply chain, do you have pictures or documentation" supporting your claim. I have my own thoughts but I will spare you at this time. End result...my parents are not re-tested as the Director refused the kits (Thank you Jesus)! *[date removed] My Mom texts me that they got their repeat Covid testing this a.m. My Mom informs staff that she needs a prescription picked up, since they cannot leave their room. Apparently disgruntled Director [name removed] informs staff that this cannot be a habit. Hello [name removed], they cannot LEAVE THEIR ROOM. Pretend they do not have anyone living local or look at their records and CALL their EMERGENCY CONTACT to see if they can pick up the prescription!!!!!!! My parents report that "staff" is friendly, helpful, and pleasant. Food is good! Had some repair issues upon removal but facility, overall, is BEAUTIFUL!

Beautiful cottage/house however smoking is frowned upon so not a good fit. The 2 bedroom apt bedrooms are very small. The memory care area is in the basement and has a separate entrance like they are hiding these residents.

Extremely Disappointed

Extremely disappointed after moving in and discovering management company that runs Village Park is far more interested in increasing revenue than actually caring about the current residents. Local management (including Executive Director) have to get approval from Corporate office before addressing even minor issues. Maintenance is understaffed and extremely slow to respond to simple requests like changing air filters. Security is nonexistent. They have opted to leave security gates open day & night for construction crews to build more housing. If the residents who live in the independent housing are treated this way, makes you wonder what they’re doing for the people who require assisted and memory care accommodations. Way overpriced for what you get!

Failure to return deposit

I put a $3000.00 deposit down for a Village Park Alpharetta assisted living apartment for my Mom on 5/20/2017. @ the time we were told that the anticipated opening would be possibly in Nov and they are still not opened. We decided to go in another direction in January 2018 and I requested our "fully refundable" deposit back. I am still waiting for the check!! I was told it 1st went to the wrong address and was re-mailed to the Alpharetta office 2/22/18. They don't seem to be able to find out why there is a very unusual delay, and just keep promising to let me know as soon as it arrives. I am very disappointed in this unprofessionalism and feel at this point I am owed interest.

Worst 5 months Ever!!

We have never been so disappointed in a facility - Alpharetta Village Park Senior Living! They totally lied to our dad who had trusted them to care for the love of his life after he passed away 1 week after moving in and you and your staff completely FAILED in EVERYTHING. From the move in (with Peace of Mind) to since we have been gone! We actually paid for an entire month, and had our mom at the new facility already! But the final straw was when your staff told me to come in on on [date removed] when I had a very contagious disease that i had to take care of my mother because your staff could not besides possibly giving it to my mother or any of the other residents there I was completely shocked that they would have me do that! i was also told that we would need to get her 24 hour care since they could not accommodated her and her grief of losing her husband of 54 yrs. She is absolutely thriving now in her new place!!

Look at the most recent reviews

My parents (who both passed away in late 2023) were one of the first couples to move into Village Park seven years ago. In the beginning, this was a well managed facility. However, in last three years, it has taken a serious turn for the worse due to poor general management. Since I was responsible for my parents financial well-being, I regularly reviewed the VP invoices, which were often incorrect. Getting them corrected was always a challenge and mistakes always seem to favor Village Park. In addition, there has been a significant increase in staff turnover and a gradual decline in the quality of the food. Given the very high monthly rental charges (not to mention the significant additional service care charges), one would think Village Park would be one of the best managed assisted care facilities in the state of Georgia. Sadly, it is not, and I would suggest you look elsewhere.

Extreme expense for poor customer service

I'll start with the positives - - the physical structure, appearance, and upkeep of the facility seems excellent. Also, the residents seem warm and friendly. Having said that, both of my now-deceased parents lived at Village Park for years. I don't know the exact figure, but they spent literally hundreds of thousands of dollars on the place (which, remember, builds no equity; it's 100% rent out-the-door). For the Four Seasons Hotel level of price they are charging, one would expect astonishing customer service, but that simply isn't the case. The accounting statements/invoices were very often wrong (and, big surprise, always in the favor of the company, not the tenants). Customer services with respect to follow-through and keeping pledges is quite poor, and the level of insouciance overall is off-the-charts. I didn't want to slam the place when my parents were alive, but now that they're gone, I wanted to make it known to others you should expect to pay Ritz-Carlton prices for Mote

Not a good experience

All I can speak about is the memory care side that is where my stepfather was for two months. I don't know about the assisted-living side it may be better. I found there was very little communication between facility and family. Could not get anybody to call me back when I needed to ask a question when I ask them to do some thing for my stepfather it did not get done the Director Miss [name removed]was not friendly at all the owner. [name removed] did not even get involved to try to resolve issues, when I brought my stepfather home, his toenails were so long that it was unbelievable. Nobody advised me how to get anyone out there to give him a pedicure. I just did not think about it. He would think these people who take care of older people all day long would have said something to me about it, that's just one thing. I have a lot more gripes and issues about this place.

BEWARE

This place is truly awful. The food is inedible for residents. There are nights where the cafeteria is closed with the promise that food would be delivered with no notice and no food ever delivered leaving residents hungry for the night. Residents have been without hot water having to plan their showers around times where water may be warmer. Residents are having to leave google nest cameras out because there are people coming into their apartment. A activity director who is unable to read so no games are able to be played. Staff turnover here is unbelievable. Have been through multiple directors, 3 chefs and countless employees over the last 6 months. Pool closed for over a year. They cut costs anyway they can which ends up cutting into the quality for the residents. Don’t believe any of the promises they tell you when you tour. They are all baseless.
