Overall very satisfied!

So far our overall experience with this community has been excellent. Our loved one loves the staff members there. With COVID the food is being delivered to their rooms, and the quality of the food is not as good as what it used to be when they could eat in the dining room.

Living at Newcastle Place

We moved from Arizona to Newcastle Place three years ago. We didn’t know a soul! In that short time, our community has become our second family. In early March, Covid hit! Everything changed quickly! The dining room along with all group activities and the gyms and pool ——all closed! We were isolated. No visitors. Yes, it has been very difficult for many of the residents. Very quickly, the entire staff at Newcastle jumped into action. We were offered many exercise classes on TV given by Patrick, our fitness director as well as yoga, Tai Chi, and meditation. We were offered so many craft and puzzle choices, all supplies. A couple of nights a week, cocktails were delivered to our door——many things were done by the staff to cheer us up. Even though we were isolating and wearing a mask anytime we did leave our apartment, we never felt alone. You could walk outdoors or in the halls and find someone to talk to. There are so many advantages to living in a community.

Very Happy with my move to Oak Trace!

My name is [name removed] and I have lived here at Oak Trace for almost a year now. After a very easy move into the building thanks to the services that Oak Trace provided, I quickly felt at home. They take fabulous care of us. I love my apartment and the layout is perfect for my needs. The unit cleaning that is completed is very helpful & thorough. The food is fantastic and is very convenient. I especially like that the menu changes on a daily basis and there are a variety of delicious choices always provided. In addition to the food, they have a variety of classes and group activities here at Oak Trace, as well as a bus that is available to take us around town to a variety of outside activities such as movies, plays, grocery shopping, and other recreational activities. There are also multiple exercise options which were very important to me when considering my move. There are programs on TV, in person group classes, as well as a fitness room for our convenience. With the Coronavirus, many of these options have been changed, but the staff here at Oak Trace have taken fabulous care of us during this time, there are temperature checks, extra cleaning, increased social distancing, and TV alerts instilled to keep us safe. I have felt very safe here, and have been more than happy with my move.

My parents recently moved to Oak Trace, and I want to express my gratitude and compliments to the administration and staff. Everyone was so very helpful and accommodating throughout the process. And the Honoring Aging people were exceptional in coordinating the actual move details. My parents, of course, were anxious and emotional with the necessary life changes, however, quickly became very comfortable once their apartment was so quickly organized, and staff and residents made them feel so welcome! Thanks much to everyone for a very smooth transition in a very stressful time!

Happy Retirement

They are start to get back to the activities. There has been no instances of the virus. Come look at Abbey Delray South and see if it works for them. The age is all over the age of 55. I am in a villa of the community. The apartments are nice and the town homes are lovely. I was able to get everything I wanted to in my villa. We haven't met a lot of people due to the virus. The food has been faboulous and have been bringing food to us. We are able to heat dinner up and have lunch the next day. The linens are sent out once a week, and the housekeeping has been great. They will even remake the bed, and make the bed each time for us. Pets are allowed, and we have a dog we walk each time. The few people we have are very friendly. Everyone waves, even if you don't speak to. When we went to look at 25 and this community helped solidified our choice because they are very friendly. The other reason is because of they had villas. The health facility had a slight issue with the virus, and I feel it might have been brought in by a staff member. This was at the beginning of the virus. Again, the independent living have not had any issues. If you are in the independent living, you can still leave and keeping appointments.

Harbour's Edge

The staff is wonderful. The community is very clean. The staff really makes the place great. The do have a lot of activities available for the residents to participate in. We do pay a pretty good price for Harbour's Edge, especially when considering when what you get out of it. Sometimes the food can be a little iffy and we do think they could improve on that quite a bit. Overall, we are very happy. The manager has been phenomenal during the whole Covid-19 pandemic and has kept all the residents protected. We really feel like it is a safe community and they do a good job communicating with us about my mother. You can really have peace of mind with your loved one at this community. The amenities are also incredible, especially the gym. The location is great and the community has beautiful views. There are a lot of things the residents can walk to.

Beautiful outdoor space

My mother says the food is wonderful. The building is really nice. The outdoor space is beautiful and probably the reason that my parents chose this community. Harbour's Edge is the place to be!

this community blows all of the others out of the water. I have never felt so at home somewhere! the residents are pleasant & vibrant and the employees all greet you very warmly. the apartments are huge and have really high ceilings. I have looked at communities all over the place and this is my top pick. we plan to deposit there next month. the sales people have been very accommodating during the pandemic to make sure we have received everything we need to make our decision.

Thank goodness I'm here!

Pandemic . . . I could never have achieved the level of safety I'm experiencing living alone. The n0n-socialization rules are strict and designed for the protection of all. Meals allowing three menu choices, plus soup, salad, dessert and a fruit are delivered to my door. Communications are delivered written, texted, voice mail and on internal TV channel, which channel continues to provide our exercise and educational classes. There is a daily voice/phone call to say "hello, how's your day; do you need anything?" And, I've been provided with a bracelet that sends a help signal if needed. Were I back in my apartment at the beach in Delray I would be alone and frightened and trying to stock food and essentials and self-diagnose. Thank goodness I'm here!

Greenfields of Geneva is great

Greenfields is a beautiful and well-appointed retirement facility. It has a very good food plan with delicious offerings. As of now, they have plenty of activities and care services but we can see the push for residents has stretched available appointments out considerably. I am hopping these are short term growing pains and additional staff and appointments will be added now that demand is increasing (salon, nails, physical therapy).

There are plenty of activities as well. Everyone from security and desk staff to the kitchen and waitstaff was phenomenal. My mom had to transition to skilled nursing and they were great as well! A Resident's experience

My wife & I visited 12 Retirement Communities in Wisconsin & Minnesota. Friendship Village Bloomington (FVB) was clearly #1. We have lived here now for over 4 years. We love it & our experience is even better than we thought it would be. Both the staff & residents are extremely friendly & competent. The facility is first-rate & the programs offered & resources are awesome! This has been recognized recently by Masterpiece Living’s honoring FVB as a “Certified Center for Successful Aging”. This places FVB in the top 1% of retirement communities in the United States. FVB’s Programming addresses Physical (exercise & diet), Socialization, Intellectual stimulation & Spiritual (meaningful) activities that extend & maximize the time residents are able to live in “independent living”. That’s what retirement communities strive for! [Name removed] Resident, Friendship Village Bloomington
