For my husband it was a good fit. He needed a smaller facility. He had advanced dementia, there may not be enough activities or stimulation for others who are more independent. I brought in [name removed] favorite meals quite often. I would tell others looking that [name removed], the on site manager, is very kind and helpful. I would recommend them with over sight of relative, which is true of every facility. Every senior needs an advocate in a facility.

Prior to moving to Serenity House, my mom was very unresponsive and quiet as she was suffering from a head injury. Her repeated urinary tract infections caused more dementia issues. Thanks to Serenity House's care, she slowly recovered (miraculously) and was able to transition to assisted living. They arranged for cognitive testing to make sure she could handle the move. They were always responsive and communicative.

I would give a 5 for each category. It's clean, and the staff does a great job of caring for my sister. When we Zoom, I can see that her clothing is clean, she's brushing her teeth and her hair is clean. She doesn't remember what happens during the day, but she most often has a different shade of fingernail polish each time we talk, and that clearly pleases her. The staff helped her to feed and care for her dog until the little guy died at 18 years. The time my sister had with her pet was very important to her, and there's been a substantial slippage since he died. I know that caring for a dog was often inconvenient for the staff, but they did it without complaint to me because it was so clearly important to my sister. When I have an issue, I can call and leave a message and most often get a return call. If I don't get a return call, it's always possible to phone [name removed], the president, and he is very good about calling back and solving problems. I think running an assisted living home is a very difficult thing to do. The fact that they are willing to call me back and engage in listening to my concerns is such a relief! The care providers my sister had previously were not nearly so reachable.

[name removed] runs a good operation. I had my dad stay with them for the last three months of his life, and they took very good care of him. I would recommend them to other families.

Very good experience at Serenity House. My Mom likes it there. Small group, non - institutional atmosphere.

We think the cleanliness has been really good and the staff members have been wonderful. There is one lady there that is specifically helpful with our loved one, and she still enjoys cooking so she will even let our loved one jump in the kitchen from time to time to help out. We think she is happy with the meals, she is eating more then what she did when she was alone so that is a definite plus. We are not exactly sure what activities they do or do not have, but they have a nice garden outside where that lady and our loved one with plant and harvest things and that has been great

The satff has been, very caring and attentive. They are always on top of things, for potential medical needs. They are incredibly friendly and caring. I picked this place because it was recommened by APFM, and we rally liked what we saw.

They have changed their house manager recently -we don't know much about her yet, but the first one was great as well. My loved one has only been here a few months. I live far but other family member visits more often and has had no complaints at all. I would recommend Serenity House to others looking, it is a smaller more homey place. A Place for mom was wonderfully helpful to us and we would recommend their services as well.

I don’t worry about my mother’s care anymore. The staff is on top of everything including medications. They supervise my mother carefully to make sure she doesn’t fall. This is the best nursing home I’ve discovered compared to others my mother stayed at. It’s small and homey. My mother is very happy there and is looking much more healthier than before. It is a total relief for me too knowing she is getting good care. The Operations Manager makes sure all things are in order too. She is great.

I absolutely love it. The caregivers are very caring. They treat Mom like a family member. I never worry about her care. I know they will contact me if there are any issues. I have not tried the food, but it smells great. Mom is always happy and well taken care of when I visit.

I feel the community is a safe place, very caring, and an overall positive experience. The community is neat and clean and they do a great job caring for our loved ones. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience

My father lived at Serenity House IX from [name removed] to the time of his passing [name removed]. Serenity House IX exceeded our expectations in almost every way. The management of Serenity House is top notch. They know what they are doing and they honestly care about their residents and staff. They take the COVID rules very seriously. They also made it easy to sign up for a new mobile doctor, medication supplies, hairdresser, etc. The providers were often better than what we had before. Serenity House IX's staff were excellent as well. There were always two terrific caregivers there during the day and one caregiver at night, plus others as needed. No turnover! They kept a very close eye on my dad and communicated well with me. We also got terrific hospice care towards the end. My dad was well-cared for despite being a "high maintenance" resident (not very steady mobility-wise, suffered increasing dementia, and required pureed food towards the end.) Serenity House is a very well-run, kind place.

I really liked this home. It was clean and comfortable. The caregiver who gave the tour was kind and very helpful. I did get a very good feeling about the great care taken with the residents. I may be just the place I'm looking for, for my Dad.

The people at Serenity house have bent over backwards to help us, and they have been great treating my father. I personally met with the owner, and really appreciated his knowledge and his transparency. The community is always clean anytime I have visited, and my father seems to really enjoy the food. I also appreciate that they've been working with my father to help strengthen his legs with exercises and equipment. Overall, I think Serenity House has been a great experience for my father, and I would recommend them.

I don’t have any complaints about Serenity House. I think things are going as well as they can be. My Aunt looks good health wise and she’s definitely eating better. The staff seems to be knowledgeable about the type of care that she needs and they all seem to be pretty friendly. They also seem to be good at being able to redirect the residents with dementia if they get upset. I don’t have any concerns about her or any of the other residents. The facility always looks really nice to me. The bathrooms are always clean, the laundry is always done, and overall they seem to be keeping on top of everything.

I was able to tour other places and I wasn’t impressed. When I got to the Serenity House II, I was amazed. It’s better than I expected. The staff really makes my father feel valued. It is a smaller-sized facility and the quality of the staff is wonderful. They do a really good job communicating with me, staying on top of his medications, and letting us know when to reorder his medications. The staff really does keep track of things. They even come in the room and let him know that he needs to drink more fluids. In the generation we are now, everyone is really attached to their phones. When it comes to the staff, they’re not preoccupied with their phones. They take the time to talk with the residents. I cannot begin to explain how amazing they are and how they take their job seriously. The staff treats my father with dignity. They actually take the time to listen to his concerns and they don’t disregard his complaints. As far as the food goes, my dad loves it. He does have specific food needs because he has a hard time swallowing and the caregiver adapts to what he needs. They have a variety of meals and they do take requests for what he wants. Quite often the staff brings in juice or ice cream as a treat. The facility is extremely clean and I’m honestly amazed at how clean it is. They go in and change my father’s garbage, vacuum, and do his laundry every day. Even though my dad doesn’t like to participate in activities they do have a person who schedules activities like bingo, dominos, and they help them walk around after meal time for about 10 minutes. I would really recommend this community.

Our Mom needed a smaller facility and 24 hour care. We are thankful for everything Serenity House Kit Carson did for our Mom. The staff and other residents seemed like extended family to our family.
