I have already recommended this to community to friends. My brother was extremely picky due to him being a physician about the community we were to put my loved one. The cleanliness is amazing. We were able to sample the food and it was very good. The room sizes, guest areas, the staff were wonderful.

Great People, Great Neighborhood

I am writing this review as we are being severely limited by Covid19 restrictions. But I began this before the abrupt change. My husband and I have lived here for 3 years. We chose it after visiting 6 other places. Our first impression was of a residence with a lot going on and with residents out and about. The hallways weren't empty; residents were reading or visiting in the lounge or at activities. Since that first impression we have experienced many of the choices. We have out little garden plot. There is a spacious courtyard; we've come to know most residents because dinner dining protocol is to sit where there is space at a table. There is quite a span of different backgrounds from all parts of the country . And we spend time with others because there is a rich assortment of classes and programs. GLG is situated in a neighborhood that allows walking safely to a large variety of services and stores. And bus transportation is excellent from here. Now that we are very restricted, the qualities of staff are particularly evident. Without exception staff members are capable, friendly, kind and very much in evidence when we need something. The activities director has arranged Zoom activities of all sorts; meals are delivered to apartments hot (or cold) on time. The security at the front desk is thorough. We are kept informed about what's going on RE the restrictions. If asked, I couldn't think of a single negative. Only there is no space at all for a swimming pool.

So thankful that my father is at Judson Park!

Hello, I am writing as a daughter of a resident at Judson Park for the last three years. I have yet to have any concerns regarding the care that is provided at this wonderful community. What has prompted me to write a review (which I honestly rarely do) is the immediate and loving response that my father has received in the midst of a pandemic. First of all, I was overseas when this began and was immediately concerned that my father was living in a senior community where the COVID-19 virus was particularly deadly. Judson Park immediately took action and shut the doors as well as monitored the employees. In the midst of this, my father became very weak with a UTI. They took action and got my father to the emergency room, cleaned his room while he was in the hospital, and will guide me with next steps; all this on top of their commitment to keep everyone safe. They are a beautiful example of "It takes a village" attitude.

Regent's Point Is Special for Both of Us

My mom has been living there since May. It really is a wonderful place. There is nothing she needs that they don't have. She complains that if there is a medical issue the nursing staff is too attentive?!?! What a complaint, right? She needs something to complain about. the food is really good and healthy and I have joined her for a meal which was really tasty. The staff is top notch. They put up with a lot and always with quick responses and a smile. They even have specialists who can help with unique issues like anxiety and that type of thing. My mom doesn't swim or play golf but, I wish she did both. Because the facilities are so nice, I would live there and do both. The residents are a good mix of intellectual and worldly and kind and welcoming. I know RP doesn't necessarily edit for that but, the kind of folks who find this place are special too. The apartment is beautiful and the service they have to help move you out of your old place and in to the new is SO helpful. Again, she complained they didn't put everything away in the right drawers. But, they put every single thing away so the place wouldn't just be filled with boxes. They hung pictures, they connected the TV and computer, it was incredible. They came and planted outside her patio and that is pretty now as well. This place is almost magical. So nice. I am so grateful as an only child who doesn't live right in town. The relief and sense of support I get from Regent's Point is worth the price of admission alone. And seeing mom happy, is of course priceless.

Thank you Gannon House staff!

Greetings! I just spent a couple days with my parents who both reside in the Gannon House. I gave 5 stars on all the categories for the facility and staff because they really are 5 star staff who work in a 5 star facility! The facility was immaculate. The staff treated residents with a real sense of friendliness demonstrating the fact that they value my parents. The staff goes out of their way to care for and bless residents. And I loved all the activities that are provided. Thank you Gannon House staff! You help me rest in the fact that my parents are superbly taken care of! Blessings to you all, [name removed]

Response to "Room for Improvement"

To: "Room for improvement" 1. Our residential unit has the microwave below the counter. I do not know that all units have this arrangement, but they are being upgraded and remodeled constantly. 2. The Grill's ambient noise has been fixed. Professional sound engineers agreed with the residents (and you) that the noise was too loud. Sound absorbent tiles have been installed on the ceiling, significantly improving the total environment. Come check it out! The food's great, too! 3. Valle Verde is a superb retirement community. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Lots of activities and a good salad bar

Dad is here currently and things have been good. Everyone seems pretty nice and he gets along well with the other residents. The staff seems to be able to answer any questions that I have and they take good care of him. Their food, however, is adequate according to my dad. Their salad bar is good and they seem to have a few different options to choose from. They offer a few activities like happy hours once a week, they have entertainers that will come in and sing or play for the residents, and there’s a sitting exercise class that he participates in. The facility is kept very clean and housekeeping comes by every day to make his bed. They clean the carpet every day so it always looks nice. They offer memory care here as well so Dad doesn’t have to move to a different facility when his needs grow. The independent living side has a buy-in option and it offers a garage, just like a house.

An Informal Classy Place

We had the experience of visiting a number of retirement centers and staying at 3, and when we visited Grand Lake Gardens we know this one for for us. We needed to be in a place where we could walk or take public transportation to do our errands. We can walk to 2 grocery stores, post office, hair salon, barber shop, etc. Our medical offices are a10 minute bus ride away. We found fellow residents friendly and happy from the first day we visited. Being new, we've sat at dinner most evenings with new people. Folks are really relaxed and informal. The staff members are capable and accessible. All parts of the place are cared for; even the stairways -- which we use in addition to the busy elevators -- are newly painted and well lighted. The top floor dining room is a gem.

Visit Grand Lake Gardens

From the moment I walked through the front door I felt like I was home! After moving in I began to count my blessings. At Grand Lake Gardens, I found a wonderful group of people my own age who have become the greatest neighbors anyone could ask for. I cannot begin to express how impressed I am with the staff. They are professional, loving, and caring about each and every resident- and it shows. We have abundant menu choices and our transportation driver it the best. The grounds are so pretty and I love the gardens reflections and visiting. Now friendships bring chances for fulfilling lifetime interests. I am creating new memories. The community spirit here is awesome. I feel safe, secure and stimulated. I highly recommend taking a tour of Grand Lake Gardens.

I Left the Tour With More Knowledge

We meet with a gentleman who did a fine job showing us all the community has to offer. During the tour, I noticed that he was very knowledgeable and gave me useful information. This was a larger community and I was looking for the coziest place. The fluorescent lighting that was there felt like it was institutional.
