I've spoken to a lot of people about Chery Blossom. I tell them that my loved one has been adjusting well. He has dementia, and one of the worst things you can do for a person with dementia is change their routine. So moving him there was really difficult for him. But he seems to be adjusting well. He likes that there are other people there, and they talk to him. I called him on day one or two, and he asked if I could give him a call back because he was talking to his friends. That told me how comfortable he was being there. He even liked when he had a roommate, which surprised me. He adjusted well to that also. The property is well spread out. There's enough space outside to go visit, and my family feels comfortable going inside now for private visits. One of the things I was really impressed with was how the caregiver handled some new clothes that I sent to my dad. The first thing she said was she would wash the clothes and get those right to him, when a lot of people wear clothes right away after buying them, without washing first. They seem to be very caring like that. My only concern is I've had to remind them to charge his cell phone. To me, that's important for someone with dementia who doesn't remember to charge it. But it's not a big deal because they always answer the house phone. It would be nice if they had phone charging on some kind of schedule. When I ask my dad about the food, he says it's good. At his prior residence, he would say it's not good, or okay. So I know he would tell me if it wasn't good. The day staff is wonderful. I haven't met the evening staff just yet. The director has a text line where I can text any questions, and he's been very responsive. He manages one other care home as well, and he recommended Cherry Blossom specifically because he thought it would be a good fit for my dad. Kudos to him on that. I agree. My dad is doing really well there. He looks great, and his dementia is not getting worse, which was one of our biggest fears. This has been a good move for him.

My sister-in-law was moved to Cherry Blossom in Renton, WA from an independent living facility. It has now been about 2 months and she is finally getting into a good routine. We've always liked the staff, but it was an adjustment for her. She has a lovely room, and the staff are so kind and genuinely caring about her needs. We, as a family are so happy to have found a group home where is happy and so well taken care of.

My mom was in a position where she needed to be moved frequently. The nurse on site said couldn't move her because they might hurt her back. The reason had chosen Cherry Blossom was so could be a part of the community with visitations. But had to call 1-800# to schedule a visit but made doing so very frustrating and wouldn't work most of the time. Her pain levels were really high and we were led to believe by staff that she was faking it. Her lower bowel ending up being bad and that was what was causing the pain. The night staff was very sweet and kind, which was a bonus.

I would tell others not to choose this community. We ended up moving my loved one out of the community. I don't believe there were any activities in the community for the residents. There was an incident that our loved one's family couldn't get a hold of the staff to come to the door. They didn't want to assist my family with our loved one during a fall.

Our experience was mixed. They put my loved one in a tiny, cramped room, with a roommate too, and without a phone. I feel I was way overcharged for the room. Their nursing staff was good though.

I would choose a different place for your loved one. The primary issue is that it was represented to us one way and none of that occurred. The community took a bedroom and turned it into two bedrooms. They showed us a room and we agreed with the room. After about a month and a half the community approached our loved one into sharing a room with another resident. The community told me that they had the right to do whatever they wanted to do, and they didn't fill in the contract with what type of room my loved one would be in. The care was okay. Overall, It wasn't a good experience for us at all. There were no activities, and the food was lousy.

Our parents are there, even now. 1. We have a VERY difficult time reaching them by phone! 2. The owner updates one sibling (NOT the POA) so we should all be updated 3. Our dad has a HUGE hole in his back that is rotting and smells. He isn’t getting the best care for it 4. Both parents have lived in ONE room together but pay for TWO and the owner told us this is a state requirement. After talking to the State, it is NOT a requirement that they pay for two rooms when they share one. So $$$ is the goal NOT care 5. Both our parents went from coherent, walking and good weight to skin and bones, one bed bound with now TWO wounds and another that just lays around. I could go on and on. If you give a rip about your loved one, find ANYWHERE but here. Oh, they also tried to make them move last year when there was a mandate that seniors couldn’t be moved. Called APS and that went away real quick. It’s not all on the place as one sibling (again NOT the POA) is a suck up.

There was not many people in the home and they did not have enough workers to take care of my loved one. I would not recommend to use this community just because of what we faced with with my loved one.
