My mom keeps telling me that she can't believe her good fortune to have landed at Brookdale. She says she feels like she's in a 5-star hotel on a luxury cruise everyday! The staff couldn't be nicer.

Sales Manager explained needs of dementia patients and requirements for interested parties,. She was very helpful . All staff are supportive and welcoming. Facility has a good layout and offers many activities for all.

I am so amazed with how much Vista Del Lago takes care of my mom. My mom was in a bad situation which caused a decrease in her level of life quickly and Vista Del Lago came to the rescue. A therapist came to visit my mom in her home and noticed that she was not being taken care of and that she could not take care of herself. They expedited a doctor to visit her in her home and he saw the situation that was at hand and saw she needed care. When she became a resident of Vista Del Lago, she was put on a good diet, her pills were monitored well, and activities were used to help promote her wellbeing while she was in serious need of care. As I visit Vista Del Lago, I have found that the nursing are well attentive to mom’s needs. When she is not doing well, they find the answer quickly and take steps immediately to help her be herself. The administration staff is all attentive to mom’s needs and care, the activities staff are also focused on her wellbeing. There have been some changes from the beginning of moms care to now and incorporated teams named, Guardian Angel and Otter Crew. I love that they assign someone in charge in each area for mom’s wellbeing. I email staff and receive emails. It doesn’t stop there. I text and call for ANYTHING and there is a response. And much to my surprise, I receive texts and phone calls when I don’t even check in. They are there for every aspect of moms needs and I so appreciate what Vista Del Lago has done to transform my mom back to who she is and make sure she is happy. There is also a protection aspect that is phenomenal for the care of mom. Who does that? Vista Del Lago does! Thank you Vista Del Lago for saving my mom’s life and enhancing her stay with you the best she could ever have.

Resort stlye, ground floor with multi function areas, 2-libraries, movie theater, living room area, special large family dining table available, arts and craft areas, kitchen areas, pool table room. Largest floorplan with u-shaped kitchen with full stove and frig, patio, second floor. Very very nice Great staff

This is the third move for my Mom. I was hoping to keep her closer to PL. I visited Cloisters of the Valley 2-3 times before taking my mom there. The care there is outstanding! Everyone who walks with a cane, walker, wheelchair has an assistant by their side when going to the dining room & back. They are happy to help. The nurses are happy to assist & extreamly helpful. The rooms are large and have 3 closets. Every room has a patio, with furniture and a beautifully landscaped garden, with seasonal flowers. There are fountains & lots of birds. The staff is receptive to my moms needs. This is leaps and bounds better than her last place. It was new and pretty, close to PL, but she wasn’t getting the care we contracted for.

In both of these levels, we have found the staff to be attentive, efficient, knowledgeable, and constantly individualizing Mom's care to fit her personal needs. In addition, there is a beautician and manicurist available on site by appointment. They also take personal interest in Mom's care. Communication of any concerns regarding Mom's health is facilitated by phone and email. The staff works together seamlessly so that any detail, no matter how small, regarding Mom's appearance, health or behavior does not go unnoticed and any needed action is taken immediately. Monthly menus and activities are posted online so we can see what Mom is eating and doing every day. We have eaten with Mom and the food is fabulous. There aren't enough kudos that we can give to come close to the gratitude we feel regarding Mom's quality of life at Brookdale.

With much reluctance, almost a year ago, we had to place my mom in a memory care facility. With the help of A Place For Mom we found and decided on Heritage Hills in Oceanside. HH turned out to be a wonderful place with lovely people who took good care, not only of our mom, but our dad-who visited our mom 2x/day everyday-as well. Thank you Heritage Hills far making this most difficult decision and transition okay...better than okay.

We have been really pleased with Westgate. My mother- in-law has lived there for 2 months. She refused to move out of her house until a medical emergency forced the issue. When she moved, she asked for about a month when she was going home. After this, she stopped asking and now says she loves it there. The staff keep her busy at all times, take her out in the community, take her shopping, and seem very attentive to her needs. They notify us whenever an issue comes up and have been very accommodating to any request. Administration has been great and extremely helpful in advising us on my mother-in-law's transition. We couldn't be happier with their services.

The Manse is a lovely facility with a real feeling of "home" for its residents. The atmosphere is family-like and is evident in the relationship the staff develops with each resident. Most importantly, the residents of the Manse receive top quality personal care that is based on genuine concern for their comfort and welfare. My mother, [name removed], has resided at The Manse since November 2015. My sister ,[name removed] and I moved our mom to this location after she was criminally abused while residing at another facility in Vista. After the devastating event, we began extensive search for a suitable place that could accommodate the needs of our mother. We chose the Manse for various reasons, but primarily due to the smaller number of residents. This allowed for more personal care of the residents. There was better interaction with the staff and fellow people living there. We cannot be happier or more satisfied with our decision as any concerns we have are always addressed quickly and professionally. Since moving into the MANSE , our mother is more content, has gained weight and shows much less stress. We enthusiastically support and confidently recommend The Manse as an assisted living home. The home was nice with doors open for fresh air. My brother was happy living there. He said the food was good and everyone (caregivers) treated him well. We did a tour last week here and the main impression is the huge colonial style home. so big and inviting... a locked gate to protect our mom who is needing extra care now. her ability to have a surrounded gated area is so important for us. the financial cost was also a determining factor for our decision. it is a great room she will share with a friend so they will talk and have much fun . the staff is great as we know we will be able to walk in anytime to visit. she could be in the main hall or having lunch or outside in the plush garden areas. lots of walking outside. we felt welcomed and it was very quaint .

I have a beloved family member at this facility. I have visited on many occasions and at different times and have always found the accommodations in stellar condition. the staff, specially the owner, have always been helpful and kind. Although this place is a large mansion with many trees and grassy areas, it has the feel of "home" with indoor and outdoor safety and gated at all times. I recommend you visit for yourself and not miss out in this gem of a place. I find the negative misrepresentations offensive since I would never place my family in this place if any of those claims were truthful.
