We are getting settled in and so far the transition has been going pretty well. The staff is helpful and attentive. This place is pretty reasonably priced. The apartments here are pretty nice. There are a lot of activities for the residents to participate in that they really seem to enjoy.

Overall I think they do a good job at Golden Meadows. It's a nice looking facility, and it is always clean and odor free. The staff are friendly and professional, and take good care of the people here. They also do a great job with the food, it always looks good.

So far so good. We haven't had any problems with them at this point. No major concerns or complaints. It's pretty much what we expected.

They are very friendly, and they do an excellent job caring for my father who has dementia. They handle him very well. They told me that it would probably take him about six weeks to get settled in and comfortable there, and they were right as he is in that phase of it now. They have been very helpful and I am very pleased with them.

My mother is happy there. The nurses are very friendly. They call her by name. They know me as well. Everything overall is very good. The location is very convenient; right between my sister and me, so we are both able to visit on a regular basis. They have different group activities; bingo, movies, gardening, they have weekly trips to go out to shop.

They do a very good job, it's clean and the staff is really friendly. It's one of the less expensive places, and they are very attentive, and responsive. They could use a little more variety, with the activities. She says the food isn't very good, and the variety isn't great for someone with a limited diet. She says it's not very tasty. They have been very nice though, and we are happy with them.

Staff facilitates the residents to interact and participate in activities or at least be in the community rooms with others rather than just sitting in their rooms. Staff was most helpful during move-in and getting things in order such as getting the TV to work properly, running line for oxygen unit up and around to prevent tripping, etc. Appreciated that several residents shared how long they had been part of the Hollybrook community and that they enjoyed living there. Loved that residents actually order from a menu at each meal and place their orders in the same manner as being at a restaurant. Funny smell when you first enter but the rest of the facility is OK. Residents' artwork is displayed in the hallways and pictures of the residents are placed near the doorway so you can learn names and faces as well as where someone's room is.

My dad was there for about two weeks. I liked the facility and the people. It was small and more intimate. They weren't qualified to handle quite his state of dementia so he had to move to the memory care. The hallways is only thirty feet long and my dad is not that bad. It was too closed in for him.

TOURED - dad liked this place and so it will come down to costs. Clean, lively, decent area, friendly staff. semi-private rooms starting at just $1,200 a month, and private suites starting at $2,200. 468 care cost, 500 community move in fee.

I'am confident about the care my father is receiving at the community. I know he is safe and in good hands. This is a pleasant community, they do a good job with keeping everything nice and clean. The staff is nice and very responsive to my concerns. He has tried many activities. He is pleased with the food. It has been a pleasant experience.

I think the staff at Hollybrook is caring and kind. Sometimes communication is lacking and there are frustrations-disappearing clothing, mixed up clothing etc. In memory care it is difficult to monitor everyone even second. But I think they really try to work with the residents in what can be a very difficult situation. My mother has been there about 3 months and while it has been a very hard transition, she does like the staff.

I loved everybody there, they were all kind and wonderful. I had a problem, because they placed her in assisted living, after her assessment. They thought she would be alright there, but I didn't think she was doing alright. The doctor wrote a prescription that was as needed, and the community was not able to use discretion about how much to give and when, and I felt like the result left her over-medicated. They can't change the prescription and they have to do what the prescription says. The facility is really nice, and I would do it again, but I would have insisted she go to memory care.

When it comes to the meals and dining this is an area my mother-in-law really complains about but she was getting amazing food at home. We have not heard of anything going on for activities but there is a guitar player coming. The value for cost is a flat rate so we could budget for it. The other thing that stands out to me is how happy all the residents seem. Many of them are very alert and active. This is why we actually chose it.

Overall, our experience at Hollybook has been decent, but there are some things that could use improvements. When we were looking to move in, the people there went out of their way to understand what kind of care my loved one would need when he was released from the hospital. Now that we are there, the staff is still friendly and helpful with the residents, but they are not very good at responding to the families. The rooms there are also kind of small, and the location is not very good. The facility is nice and clean though, and the residents seem fine with what they get as far as the food is concerned.

My father has recently made the move into this community and with only a few issues things have been going okay for her. The staff check in on him every hour which I am pleased about and I am comfortable with the quality of care they provide him. His room is spacious for all of his things and is kept clean for him throughout the week. The only trouble we seem to keep running into is his roommates continue to wonder into his bedroom which has become a problem.

I liked this facility and liked the price, but being in the center of S.A., not much outdoor room for residents and parking for visitors was bad.
