Independent Living

An Independent Living Community permits residents the ability to continue to live their active lives while assuring their care requirements have been fulfilled. Food preparation, recreational activities and housekeeping chores are handled for you while you are free to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and interests. Typically consisting of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies differ between communities, many residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to employ the services of private health care providers, they may always do so. There are a number of expenses and benefits to keep in mind when deciding on an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are included in the care plan: wellness program, Waiting list deposit, cable TV, parking, initial assessment fee, transportation, utilities, and move-in fee. The benefits associated with independent living include private rental hall, golf course, restaurant-style dining hall, beauty salon & barber shop, healthcare center, fitness center & swimming pool, concierge services, and security guards.
