Independent Living

For those who wish to live primarily without personal assistance but wish for the benefit of having chores and housekeeping taken care of by professionalls, an Independent Living Community might be the perfect fit. Frequent needs such as housekeeping and the scheduling of social activities are accounted for, which provides seniors more free time to live active lives as they see fit. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they prefer. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow pets as well. If medical or nursing support is desired, residents may always utilize the services of private health care professionalls. There are a number of advantages and expenses to balance when choosing an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are covered in your care plan: move-in fee, wellness program, initial assessment fee, transportation, private phone, meals, internet access, and parking. The conveniences associated with independent living include private rental hall, healthcare center, game/TV room, security guards, laundry service, fitness center & swimming pool, restaurant-style dining hall, and concierge services.
