Very disappointed
My mother back in February needed care. The nursing and activities staff were excellent. My problem was lack of response from administration. When released in March I was given a bag which turned out to be mostly someone else’s clothes. I placed many calls…to no avail. I then brought the clothes back. The gentleman at the desk said he was the administrator. I explained my disappointment in lack of response from all departments I spoke to. He apologized and asked for me to send the bill for replacement and he would send a check to reimburse me. I sent a bill for about $50 because it was the only receipt I happen to have kept. It is now [date removed] and I have still not received payment. I have called…left many messages with the front desk again to no avail. When I asked for the administrators direct line to leave a message…a recording comes on that his box is full. I requested a call or I would write a review…apparently they don’t care about that either.

Review of the Buckingham skilled nursing facility
I was admitted to the Buckingham skilled nursing facility after having been discharged from the hospital,having been diagnosed with the coronavirus.
Because of the virus currently residents are not permitted to have visitors but, should your loved one admitted to this facility I would recommend that you engage the services of a private aide
either part-time or 24/7
( depending on your loved ones condition ) to advocate and assist, , Should you have family who is available to come to stay with your loved one in shifts that would also be a good solution.
The physical therapy department and the e was Iibdaub occupational therapy department I superb. As for the rest of the staff, The level of care that they provide is much below satisfactory with the exception of a few wonderful people who are truly dedicated.
I am a female and one of the nurses who was assigned to me during the week was a gruff male who granted rather than used words mostly, and, when he did use words with his broken English pretty much barked out commands or belittled and verbally abused me. While being washed one day I awas left naked and asked for a towel to cover myself. No it's in question made up a little jingle with a provocative tone to it and wiggled his hips and nlurted out "me man you woman".
This was accompanied by more grunting sounds las in caveman pre verbal times.
The time when you would ring the call bell and ask for staff for help they would ignore mevfor a lengthy period of time or, look in and say "I'll be back later I'm busy right now."
Sometimes the person never came back or sent the abusive nurse who asked in an intimidating manner "what do you want?"
Before I could answer he was already on his way out the door again. Often it took hours for the request to be addressed and sometimes the shift left without addressing my concern and no one picked up the thread in the next shift. I haven a medical condition that requires me to be on a special diet.
The dietitian comes to see you and someone from the kitchen comes to ask you what your preference is for meals that day.
No matter what I ordered I got chicken for lunch and dinner every day of the seven weeks of my stay at the rehab. When I asked to have it changed to something else they said wait till dinner. Then the same thing would happen all over again just like a groundhog day.
I was informed of my discharge date two days before I was to be discharged. I do not have help at home so have to start from scratch to search for aids. . Social worker agreed to help me find someone on the Internet but never came back to assist me.
Ultimately I was discharged , brought home and left entirely to my own devices without having any help set up at home.
I'm completely bedbound and reliant on others for care with every single activity of daily living and function.
I cane home last night and I'm writing this review the next morning still being alone and still not having been able to locate an aid.
My overall rating for the facility is extremely negative.

The nurses and the facility make it five star. He likes the food and he loves the therapists. 5 stars! The charge nurses are great. I like the physical therapist and health aides. The social worker is great too. His room is really clean. The come in and sweep and mop. He likes the meals options that he has been given. They are keeping us well in the loop.

My dad is very happy with the treatment at the Buckingham. He is happy with the help and therapy. Everybody at the Buckingham has been super sympathetic and helpful to me. The nurses have been really clear and forward to me with how to take care of my dad. They are very professional and helpful and everyone is real friendly. They were very up front and communicative. They are always doing their best to reach out to me. The nurses talk and communicate with me about the care of my dad. Sometimes I feel like the food options are not good for someone in recovery.

He has no complaints. He seems to be doing very well in the physical therapy and he gets is meds when he supposed to. He's very good with the therapy. He says the people are really terrific. It has come a long way since I was there! The floor he is on is fairly new. The administrator, he was in the room and he was very concerned, and he was good.
