Glad Sodalis is There to Help
Overall everything is going well. It's a smaller unit, which is helpful as far as care is concerned. I've not had much interaction with the staff, but they've been very nice. They keep me informed and updated. I hope my loved one can stay there for as long as she needs to.

Mercy House Victoria offers two beautiful communities in Victoria on John Stockbauer Rd. WE ARE DOING IN PERSON COMMUNITY TOURS.Each home has room for 16 residents. As a result of the two side by side communities, it allows us to offer one environment focused on residents that are in the early stage of Alzheimer's, and another that focuses on the residents that are in the later stages of the disease.
The residents of these two homes enjoy the freedom to come and go between the two houses. You will often find the 'walking club' making laps around the trails while enjoying the sunshine on their faces. Home-cooked meals in a friendly atmosphere make this place the best in Victoria for those looking for a true 'home' rather than a care facility.

Needs improvement & Disappointed
Facility has lots of cosmetic issues throughout both homes. Staff tells you what you want to hear but don't always follow through. Facility seems poorly run. Told 2 to 4 hours of activities but seems only to have an hour each day and nothing on weekends.

Review of Sodalis Elder Living
Safe, secure welcoming facility. My friend lives here - there is no immediate family in the area. He does receive visits from friends almost daily. Visitors are welcomed and included in activities. He receives personal attention all day, everyday from a caring staff. He is always encouraged to be involved in activities. Each morning he is dressed and ready for breakfast. He remains up, dressed and involved until bedtime.

Review of Sodalis Elder Living
My mother has lived there for about 1 1/2 years. She used to love the deer that would come up to watch, they do not come as often now. But she still loves to watch the birds, the squirrels, and hummingbirds. The staff is very sweet to her, the cooks are all wonderful. You can always smell something good cooking. It feels like home to her.

My dad lived here for several years. He had great care, even improved over the nursing facility he was in prior to this. The love he received at Sodalis is something money can't buy. The staff loved him and he loved them, very comforting for the family.

My father has been at Sodalis for a month now. He has had Alzheimer's for many years. EVerything at Sodalis is geared towards Memory Care. They try to keep residents active and in group sessions playing games, exercise, church service, etc. This is the best situation for my father.

Great place
My Dad moved to Sodalis after he spent 1 month at a behavioral hospital after an alleged suicide attempt. No other nursing home would take him straight from a behavioral hospital. Except Sodalis!!! Dad thrived there. The place was awesome. They were extremely nice and wonderful. They had activities all the time to keep the residents engaged. Its very small and that makes it very cozy and home-like. I would definitely recommend Sodalis.

Finding a Memory Care Facility
[Removed]has been a resident since April 14th. Staff made her transition to residential living easier than could be expected. Sodalis is exclusively a memory care facility and it shows in how well they work with residents. As a smaller company they seem to value every resident as a person, not just a source of revenue. The facility director is excellent, balancing business issues with personal concerns. Staff is very good, working with even stage 4 dementia issues. Highly recommend the facility for anyone with a Alzheimer or Dementia family member. We toured two other recommended facilities. Both were good, one more and one less expensive.

Compatible With The Community
My friend is doing really good after finding this community. The worry has been taken off of her loved ones after realizing how much she needed to be here. The community has a living room that you first walk into. The environment of a home helps her to do great. The staff also have learned all about her to make her feel comfortable. The staff are helpful and friendly.

I took a tour not too long ago. Was not impressed. Very understaffed, the workers that were up and running were non stop. Theres not enough activities being done with residents. The price is way too high at the facility. Most of the caregivers were nice and willing to help others even with other things going on. When i was walking thru facility, i noticed the residents having trouble sitting in chairs , the bottom stayed up on most of them, that is a safety concern. Very loud as well. Not a place I'd be happy with taking my father.

Our caregivers are fabulous and we're glad that you experienced their kindness and helpfulness. Just like in any household, some days are busy and noisy, other days are not. We hope you'll visit again. Our staffing ratio is on par or better than other communities and we provide superior levels of training to our staff.

A wonderful caring home full of love for mom!
My mom has been in this home for several months and I am so pleased with her care. They consistantly meet the everyday care of my mom with love and compassion that is so warming to me. The manager and nurse on staff have gone above in care for mom and always eager to find solutions to her needs. Always there to help, is the staff that is so attentive to her well being and extremely accommodating. There are activities to keep her engaged and home cooked meals. The atmosphere is a home and not just a facility. They show such compassion and love to her. It is such a blessing to know that she now has an extended family that cares and loves her.
