Awful facility. BEWARE
They are thieves! Everything my mom took over for him would get stolen. She had his name on all of his belongings, clothes, toiletries, shoes, bed linens, towels, and ALL of it got stolen several times. He would be wearing other people's clothing, shoes, glasses, and when my mom asked about it, no one knew a thing! They stole his nice blankets, his ball caps! Disgusting.
He had to go to the hospital a few times and each time the doctors said his medicine wasn't given to him correctly. They would make zombie like then send him to the hospital.
When it came to eating, no one would help him. He is blind and almost deaf and only a few teeth. My mom would go visit during lunch or dinner and he would have food everywhere because he couldn't cut it or see it. His dentures went missing also and no one knew anything. That's an awful place. If we could afford it, we'd hire a lawyer. The monthly payment is over [removed] a month.

Gem of a Older Facility
We picked this community, because for my needs, it was the best choice.It was a positive experience. They have the willingness to work with you regarding the needs of your loved one. It is not the newest of facilities but it is a good choice, if your loved one doesn't care about fancy or newness of facility.

I toured San Jose Gardens Alzheimer's Special Care Center and it was a great tour! The cleanliness and friendliness were both great. However, it's more expensive than some other facilities in the area.

A peace of mind for Alzheimer's care
The care the residents receive is fantastic; they really care about the residents.
Communication between the community and our family has been good. They have an app where you can receive updates. I also periodically visit my mom in person; so between the two, I get a lot of information. The community is locked and secure, with everything all on one floor. I feel safe and comfortable knowing my loved one is there. I would recommend San Jose Gardens to others.

Highly recommend
My husband is doing amazing here, this is exactly what he needed. The facility focuses only on memory care so the staff are very knowledgeable. They have 2 wings that are split into the higher functioning and lower functioning residents. The facility is smaller and extremely clean. They have tons of activities provided for the residents.

As [name removed] begins her fourth year as a resident, I would like to, again, thank you for the care and friendships that she has found with your staff.
We were visiting from California when [name removed] took a turn for the worse. Returning would have been problematic, so we were referred to a number of options in Jacksonville.
At that time, San Jose Gardens was Arbor, who exhibited the sensitive understanding of our situation. The staff immediately befriending us and undertook the care that would continue as [name removed] accepted her new home. Cleanliness, nutrition, classes, and family events have been San Jose Gardens reputation.
I have had a comfort level, as staff notifies me of any changes, concerns, observations, or suggestions regarding her care.
I am continually grateful and do not hesitate to recommend San Jose Gardens to any prospective resident.

If you are looking for a top notch special care unit look no more than San Jose Gardens. I have had experience with other special care centers for other family members and San Jose Gardens staff have far exceeded my expectations and past experiences. Everyone goes that extra mile to make sure that the residents are well cared in a safe and comfortable environment.
I can not recommend this care center highly enough for the work that they do, especially during these trying times during the pandemic where their protocols have kept the residents physical safe from COVID-19. It is an extremely emotional and difficult decision where to place a loved one, suffering from Alzheimer's or dementia, who can no longer be cared for safely at home. The highly trained professionals at San Jose Gardens can help you with this process. I know from experience that I will always be grateful to them for helping my family when we needed them most and did not know who to turn to.

My wife has been a resident of San Jose Gardens for several years and I could not be happier with her care there. Because this beautiful facility is Memory Care ONLY, the staff is well trained in Memory care issues. There is no interchanging of staff between Assisted Living and Memory care.
In addition, this facility is led by an administrator who is also an R.N., who is the most competent, compassionate, and “hands on” Director one could every hope for.
I would not hesitate to recommend San Jose Gardens to any resident in need of top notch Memory Care.

Very pleased, very impressed and would absolutely recommend this community
San Jose Gardens has activities like inside bowling, bingo. The residents get to make flower arrangements. They have arts and crafts as well as shared yoga classes. The building on the outside and inside looks amazing, even the inside of the rooms. The food is good, its well prepared. They are pretty accommodating to each and every resident. One thing that really stood out to us about this community was the staff. They all were super friendly, very accommodating and very informative. They all are very specialized in the specific care my loved one needed.

Not as it always seems
Our initial experience with Arbor San Jose started well enough, however as my fathers demensia progressed to where more direct care was required, he was refused to be accepted back following a hospital stay, despite being told specifically they could care for him even if he wasn’t mobile. We felt like they were shopping for patients that require the least amount of direct care resulting in our having to move him a couple more times with little notice and or options. My recommendation is to ask pointed questions.

My mom has been a resident at Arbor Terrace San Jose for only a month and we can already see the positive impact! She’s happy, calm and tells us how much she loves it everyday. The staff is amazing and it’s clear to see that they truly care about the residents!! Mom has a private room and bath and was able to take her bedroom furniture with her, which made it easier for her to acclimate!! We’re very pleased with our choice and highly recommend this wonderful community!!

Helpful Staff!!
I had called this community to get some information for my mother on possibly living in there facility. The staff where very helpful and I appreciated there patience with all my questions. The only problem I ran into was they did not allow cats in there memory care unit and that was something that she had to have. Otherwise we have no complains and everyone was very professional

Great Care for my mom
I like the care that my mom is getting here. The staff is nice and very caring. They are always quick on resolving issues very quickly. She is offered good meals. They are offering activities. This community is very inviting for families to bring their loved one. The community is very safe so that they can not leave. They had a lot of different areas for activities. I highly recommend the great value for the great care at this community

The tour here was a good job. It was a clean and beautiful community. Seems like a suitable facility but I felt my mom would not fit in. They were more active and social. They were helpful, kind, and considerate.

This community is Fabulous!!!
I can not say enough about how fabulous the entire staff at Arbor Terrace is. This is a brand new clean community. My husband's health has improved since moving into this community. I would give the food a 4. They have up to 5 activities available daily. The physical Therapy staff is wonderful. I would undoubtedly recommend this community.
