Golden Oaks is a beautiful place to live. The care team are wonderful. The staff are all sweet and kind. The residents are all sweet and enjoyable to visit and talk too. I'm so incredibly happy with my dad and his care here at Golden Oaks. The restaurant is nice and clean and the food is good. I have no complaints just happy comments. Thank you so much.

I would like to see more variety in the menu - perhaps a vegetarian option. Also, a call light so the resident could contact help, if needed. You can call on the phone, but if the person can't use the phone easily a call light would be beneficial.

Recommended
As for the food, more attention paid to everything from prep, quality and presentation would make a big difference in the dining experience for the residents that need and depend on it three times a day, everyday. That is one of the most important things, if not "The most important," event for them. Overall, I would recommend the facility to others.

Best place
My relative has been at Golden Oaks for over five years and she loves living there. She was resistant at first but now calls it home. She has made life long relationships with people and no longer isolates. She was home alone daily and never has to feel that emptiness again because new friends and staff. She loves the friendly staff and likes new the remodel of the community.
The staff is what makes the community welcoming to family and residents.

Pleased with Golden Oaks
My mother has lived in her apartment at Golden Oaks for almost three years. During this time, I have observed and interacted with the staff multiple times per week and found them to be gracious, caring, and professional.
The apartments range in size from studios to two bedrooms. The common areas, hallways, and dining room have recently undergone an extensive remodel and provide a nice place for this community to meet together to eat, do activities, and enjoy the company of one another.
The interior and exterior grounds are clean and well maintained. There is ample opportunity for residents to take walks on the grounds or sit outside with their friends and enjoy the day.
Overall I believe that Golden Oaks is worth considering if the time comes to find a new place for mom or dad.

I’m adjusting to having Mom here. They have a firm start for mealtimes. Don’t be late! Allows visiting time between residents. Most meals they start serving on time. No meals can be modified- they don’t offer any diabetic friendly options. All the staff help in all areas so at mealtimes the office ladies are helping in the dining area. Some servers also provide resident housekeeping and laundry. I don’t find the office staff interacting with the residents much except at mealtime. When requesting something for maintenance to be fixed , it happens quickly. There are minimal holiday decorations, nothing at Thanksgiving and only a Christmas tree when you enter - gorgeously decorated. Overall sterile environment. Activities available but we have not participated in most, yet. The other residents are friendly. There are 2 independent agencies on site. We’re paying the Chanan caregiver agency to provide escort to mealtime and they are friendly and helpful while learning my mom’s needs.

Thankful for kindness
My mother was a resident at Holiday Golden Oaks. Her experience at this facility was great. The staff was loving and fair. The cleanliness and friendliness were great. The food was good. I would highly recommend this facility to family and friends. In fact, my husband and I plan to go there in a decade.

Golden Oaks is a bright and well-maintained facility. There were several financial accommodations and incentives available to assist with the entrance fees. Golden Oaks has fewer extra fees, like pet , motorized wheelchair and parking charges. Meals are excellent.
Office/administrative staff has been very friendly, answering all questions. Their new guest was being forced to make major life changes due to sudden health issues and reluctant to make this move. His concerns were patiently addressed and he has accepted his new living situation.
Areas of improvement:
- We were concerned about the inability to evacuate the upper residents in the case of an emergency, many that would have great trouble using the stairs. We were able to get a ground floor with its own exit.
- A medical evaluation upon entering would have helped resident identify and accommodate his new physical and mental limitations. Those concerns coming from a professional would have helped the new resident, family and friends reach a common understanding of needs and required changes or adjustments. Hearing that information coming from only family and friends was often not accepted easily.
- We are disappointed there isn't a gym available with basic machines and equipment available to assist with physical strength recovery.
- He hasn't used the available transportation and is hesitant to try it. Having a staff member provide personal instruction and accompany him on a first bus trip would be very helpful.
While no facility will ever be perfect for every resident, Golden Oaks has come close. We are pleased with this new environment and have recommended it to others.

A great fit
We also really liked a place in Loma Linda, but went with Golden Oaks because it was closer to us. On our tour of Golden Oaks we were able to have lunch with the residents and the friendliness sold us on that place.We are very pleased with Golden Oaks. Mom is enjoying the variety of classes and the residents are happy and friendly.

I toured the place, very friendly, great staff, very helpful.. I love it just a bit out of my price range. Very clean, peaceful, and their smiles are bright.. you know your loved one will be safe when you walk out of the door. No complaints.. seems like a nice and comfortable place!
