My review of Evergreen Cottages Jasmine Cottage
It has been a really good place for our loved one, and with her memory loss she is just like a very happy little kid, not difficult or angry so the staff members think she is just wonderful. From what we have been able to see based off the initial move in and the tour the inside is very nice and clean, but we really have been only able to sit outside under the covered patio to visit. We are not sure of the activities they have done on the inside, but there has been a few times were the residents sit outside and we can drive by to see them. The staff members have all been very nice, attentive, and always call back.

My review of Evergreen Cottages Jasmine Cottage

My families experience
The care that they promised was not the care that was delivered so we removed our loved one from the community. She has had strokes in the past that caused some brain damage, and she had fallen five times while she was at the community. We had made the director known of her health that caused some cognitive issues. We had a camera in her room to check on her, and we noticed when the staff would bring her to the room for the night they would put her walker across the room, this is what caused her to fall. It would also take the staff awhile to come to her aid when she would fall. We had asked for a list of medication they were giving her and there was a medicine in the form of a tranquilizer which was a mild and a stronger one. They were giving her that on a daily basis and we had no idea this was taking place. Some of the staff was very caring and the food was really good, she did enjoy that.

We are sorry that you felt that your loved one did not receive the care they deserved. We take great care in delivering the quality of care deserved by every resident. Sometimes no matter how hard we try, we are not able to please a family or meet their expectations. We are truly sorry that you feel we failed you in this regard. Evergreen Cottages is a Social Model and Not a Medical Community. Care Plans and medication regimes are agreed upon by the Medical POA together with the Residents doctors and physicians. Evergreen Cottages follows strict protocols and management of Residents prescribed medications and would never place a resident in danger by giving them the wrong medication. Medical records can only be shared with the designated Medical POA and in some cases where the resident is under Hospice Care within our communities, the Hospice Nurse and staff would make medical records available when requested. Caring for a loved one can be overwhelming and a change to a new community may take a few days for the resident to settle and our staff to get to know the resident well. We appreciate the opportunity to serve, but sometimes, we're not afforded the time to let the resident settle in. We hope your loved one found a suitable community where they will thrive.

Loving car for our mother
My 92 year old mother receives loving and attentive care at the Jasmine Cottage. The caregivers genuinely care about her well being and happiness. Interaction with staff and other residence seems to keep mother interested and active.
The facility is clean and orderly. The food is healthy and seems a good variety is served. Over all we are very satisfied with the care at Evergreen Cottages.
