Our Experience
The staff has been extremely friendly every time we've visited the facility. We are impressed that they always know us, who we're there to visit, they know my dad, what he's been up to and usually can tell us exactly where he is at the moment if he's not in his room. My dad always tells us that the food is like eating in a restaurant every day. He is always buying little treats to give to the cleaning ladies because they do such a good job on his room and are so nice to him. We consistently receive calls or e-mails if anything is going to be different or if there are any concerns. We truly cannot say enough good things about Danbury and how well they've helped my dad integrate into their facility.
As for recommendations for improvement, our only concern was that the cost was increased by 8% this year. That was quite a large leap. My dad is already straining the limits of his budget and we hope that any future increases, if needed, are more moderate. We would be crushed, as would he, if he were priced out of being able to afford to stay there. It's been a great experience for him.

Danbury North Canton is a resort-style independent living community surrounded by wooded greenery. The community is located in the suburban area of North Canton, Ohio, which is approximately an hour southeast of Cleveland.
While living at Danbury North Canton, residents have access to pet-friendly living accommodations while receiving quality care. Residents can choose between a variety of spacious private living accommodations, including studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. My new happy home at Danbury
At first I was hesitant about moving to a senior apartment. But after visiting Danbury, I was sure this was the place for me. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. My apartment is very convenient and pleasant. If I have a need, all I need to do is ask and it is met. Danbury is great!

My mom is thriving which is saying a lot. She's been more active in the past two months than the past 14 years. I couldn't be happier with the care she is receiving! We picked this community because it had the most caring staff when I toured. It was the only independent living place that had easy access to some of the assistance my mom needed. My mother is currently a resident at Danbury North Canton and everything is great at this facility! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The Sales Manager is perfect for this position, she is super kind and helpful! The meals are good quality and taste great! I would definitely recommend Danbury North Canton to friends and family!

Excellent Independent Apartments for the Price
Danbury was an excellent value. The staff were awesome. I wasn't really fond of some of the aides they hired through an outside service, but some were awesome. The apartment was excellent. It was roomy, and they did a good job with housekeeping. It had a little balcony where my mom could sit outside and enjoy nature. She really enjoyed living there. She was friendly with the staff and made a lot of friends. We were sorry to see her go from there, but she just needed more care.

Smooth As Silk
I recently relocated my mom from Socal to Ohio and Danbury was the perfect fit when I toured it. I visit my mom every other day so I have a lot of interaction with the staff. They are amazing and patient . My mom is comfortable and confident in the staff and the facility is clean and well maintained. When I tell my friends where my mom is living they have extremely postive comments and I echo these sentiments. I have peace of mind knowing my mom is at Danbury.

Perfect Place for Mom
Mom has been living here for awhile, and it is the perfect peace for her. The indpendent living facility gives her the freedom and independence she wants and provides the support she needs. She is very comfortable here and has made some special friends.

Wonderful Tour
it was recommended to us to tour Danbury Independent Living as I'm currently looking for that type of situation for my father. [name removed] was wonderful and spent a lot of time with us answering our questions, showing us the facility, and even had us join the community for a meal (which was great)! While my father has not decided yet where he will go, Danbury IL is an excellent option and I would strongly recommend anyone looking for senior independent living to take the time to check them out.

Nice facility, but limited access to skilled care givers
The only comment is not on the facility itself, but the aid service contracted with the facility. When we first toured they made it sound like the aid service was there all the time, to assist residents as needed. Turns out they are only there at night. I am not mad at the facility or aid service, just felt misled is all. They made it sound as if seniors could age in place and increase care levels as need increases. But that's not the case, at least not right now.

I thought Danbury North Canton was very nice, very clean, and for the most part the people were very friendly. Occasionally you'd run into some people in management who weren't very nice. I had a studio apartment that came with a kitchenette, a bathroom, and I had to provide my own furniture. They allowed pets, I had a small dog with me who's around 15 lbs. They offered housekeeping services where they'd change your linens bi-weekly and wash bedding & towels. Sometimes it seemed off, because I would receive wash cloths and towels that didn't belong to me. They were supposed to wash our things separately, per unit. They also offered transportation to appointments & stores, and I believe it was included for the monthly price. Your trip had to be within a certain distance of 10 miles, anything over that and there will be an additional fee. It's an overall very nice place and if I had to go back I would. I would recommend Danbury to other people.
