Outstanding experience with Brookdale - Fort Collins
A big shoutout to A Place for Mom recommending Brookdale - Fort Collins for my loved one. A medical emergency put my loved one in the hospital. [name removed] went above and beyond to get my loved one admitted—in _two days_!! She arranged the assessment, guided me on a virtual tour, acquired sheets, towels, etc.. for a furnished room till we could move in, helped find a moving company, walked me through all forms (one from her home at 8p!), got needed sign offs, and supervised the move, all with unwavering good cheer and persistence. My loved one even got to keep her cat! And my loved one is so happy with the community: there are exercise classes, choir participation, special outings (e.g., a tour of Christmas lights), and lots of opportunities for socializing. Many thanks to those who made this possible. If your loved one needs care, I urge you to check out Brookdale. If you need help finding a place, I recommend getting A Place for Mom to guide you with their expertise and care.

Great staff
We chose Brookdale Fort Collins because they were able to give us a discount since she was in another Brookdale facility previously. We also really liked the looks the place, it was clean and the rooms were very nice and private. The staff is really helpful and they keep you updated on what is going on with your loved one. They send me a form each month with her care plan and they keep us involved. I would absolutely recommend to others looking for memory care.

Tour of Brookdale
I toured Brookdale Fort Collins Memory Care and I had a good experience. I liked the staff who showed us around, it's a really nice facility. Compared to other places we toured and seeing what they had to offer made me concerned about Brookdale's layout. It's like a huge hotel and they didn't have straight hallways. If you don't know what corner your room was at, you'd get lost easily. In order to get to the room they showed us, he would have to go into a different corridor and around different hallways. We ultimately chose another community because Brookdale wasn't a good fit for us.

Pros and Cons
We read a lot of reviews, and Brookdale Fort Collins had the best reviews that we saw. We've noticed that others have tended to have some of the same complaints as we do, mostly revolving around cleanliness and food. I would say you definitely have to go there and make sure they're not getting complacent with their duties, especially regarding cleaning. I also think they need to look at their food a little bit. I haven't tried it, but I wasn't impressed with a meal I saw the other day. It was just a pile of yellow corn and a tortilla. There was no other color or vegetables on the plate, especially green vegetables. But my loved one seems to be making friends and adjusting well. And I think they're doing a good job keeping the residents safe from Covid, for instance requiring masks and checking visitors' temperatures. I'm hopeful that as Covid eases they'll be able to go on more outings.

Highly Recommend With Wonderful Staff
I would tell others to go to Brookdale, during our loved one's stay they were there during the pandemic. My ratings are based on my experience during COVID.
The staff was perfect to work with over the phone. They would let me know of any changes of my loved one, to the point of any Hospice changes as well.
The Brookdale staff worked amazingly well with a very independent individual who was visually impaired and hard of hearing.

Just what she needed
They provide of wide variety of supports. The caregivers are very friendly and they seem to genuinely care about my mom. We chose this community because offered the three levels of programming which was more a cognitive appropriate setting for her and they offered what she needed,
The location is close to family. I would recommend this community to other families.

People Are More Than Kind
My loved one is at Brookdale, and so far, our experience has been really good. The staff has been more than kind and accommodating. They call if there are any changes, and they have gone out of their way to be helpful. The food is good, and though my loved one doesn't have much of an appetite, I believe he is eating well. As far a cleanliness goes, sometimes things aren't as clean as I would like, but I think they do the best that they can. Overall, I feel Brookdale has done a good job, and I would recommend them to others.

Quite a Comfort
My husband has been staying at Brookdale Fort Collins, and I feel quite a comfort knowing he is there. I feel know that he is safe and well cared for there. The people have been extremely helpful, kind, and accommodating. The food is very good, with generous portions, and I really appreciate how they involve my husband and the other residents in most of the activities. Even if they are not able to do the activity itself, they can still be a part of the group. I find that the community is also absolutely immaculate, and I would recommend Brookdale to others

Nice Place!!
This place had a lot of great amenities to offer all the residents and everything seemed very clean as well as maintained. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to provide us with lots of great information. Overall we are happy and would recommend it to anyone.

A nice tour for care
We toured this community for care that we required. The staff were nice and were able to answer the questions we had on the care that is given. They had a nice variety of meals on the menu and activities are offered to the residents. We would recommend this community and families might consider a tour of the community.

Brookdale FC has unique group - Crossings - that's for more functioning memory residents and that's a great fit for my husband. Plus 1 bedroom options (better than smaller studio). They are the standard I'm comparing my other visits too.

Very Costly !!
The staff was friendly and patient with my loved one. They have a huge communication problem between the staff. They would often call my family and I requesting money for items they promised they would provide for my loved one. They where also wasteful and unorganized with his things, I overall was dissatisfied.

Happy Husband
This is a excellent community. Great meals and wonderful variety of different choice meals.The activities are offered to him and he does attend when he liked to do so. Very clean atmosphere inside and out. My husband seems to be extremely happy here and we would recommend this to others who are seeking great care for others.
