My review of Atria Summit

I would recommend the memory unit. The director [name removed] is very competent and nice to work with. In the memory unit so far have observed that there are not many things to do with activities. The meals are excellent and the staff are always helpful and nice.

Good, with Reservations

I have been here for 8 years. This year, I'm paying [fee removed] for a deluxe studio apartment, which suits my needs. The rate goes up approximately 8% a year, whereas as at [community name removed] in [location removed] the cost is several hundred dollars less and the rate goes up only 4% a year. [Community name removed] has more activities than we do, but since the pandemic, we're having more activities. There is a lot of turnover in staff, and right now we're very short of staff. We have a new chef who trained at the Cordon Bleu in Paris, and he seems promising. I considered [community name removed] but found the facilities old and depressing, whereas Atria is cheery and inviting. So I'll stay here until my money runs out.

I'll stay with reservations

I've been here for 8 years. It's pretty expensive. I'm paying $50,000 this year for a nice deluxe studio. The food varies depending on the changing chefs. There's a lot of turnover, and we're very short on staff now. There are some activities although there are more at Charter in Edgewood, which is cheaper and has adequate staff. I looked at Charter but found the facility old and depressing. So I'll stay at Atria, which is cheery and inviting, until my money runs out.

I would recommend

We chose Atria Summit Hills because they had availability when we needed it as well as the value for the money. The rooms here are private for the residents. Overall it has been a good experience and I would recommend them to other who are looking.

I was very impressed with this facility. Personnel were friendly and interacted with residents on a personal basis. Home was clean as were the residents. I would have no second thoughts on having a family member move in here. I rate it four stars only because this is the first facility I have visited so I have no basis of comparison. If I make more visits to other locations then this one could be a five-star rating.

Top-notch staff

I’m so happy that we chose Atria Summit Hills for my parents’ transition to assisted living. My father struggled initially but the caregivers were professional, patient and kind. My mother suffers from moderate dementia and they are always gentle and loving with her. I can’t say enough positive things about the staff, from the director to the handyman. The daily activities are posted in multiple locations. The director of activities is always enthusiastic and inclusionary. Also, the common areas and hallways are always kept spotless.

They Were Welcoming While Touring

I had a tour of this community and I thought it went fine. I saw some area that would suit those who like to be involved within the community. The sales person was ready to understand my needs for my mom and prepared for my visit. To me it was not as airy looking as another community I liked.

Kept My Refund

I did not have a good experience with this community. My mother was all set to move in, but she fell and broke her hip. So she had to go into rehab, and from there a nursing home. She never made the move into Atria, and they would not refund me my money. I did not think that was right of them to keep our money when she never moved into the community.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother's injury. We wish your family the best and hope that you are able to find a community equipped to provide the level of care she needs to recover.
