Tour experience
I toured with Merrywood on Park and it just seemed a bit....snobbish. I was also a very pricey place in comparison to [facility name removed] which is the facility that we chose.

Nirvana for the elderly!

My Tour Experience at MerryWood on Park
We toured MerryWood on Park. It was a terrible experience for us. The elevator sounded like it was going to die, and this was concerning. The size of rooms weren't what we expected and there was a lack of natural lighting. Also at another community we toured, both residents and employees stopped us in the hall to talk as we were visiting. No one did that at MerryWood.
MerryWood was very dark and depressing. Lots of people using mobility devices. They had a musician playing in the living area and there were not enough seats such that they were overflowing down the hallway

Merrywood is known for having an active population and a very robust activities calendar. In fact, the Carolina Panthers were just in the community cooking breakfast for all our seniors! Merrywood is set on a historic, eight acre wooded lot so most the apartments will have morning sunshine and shade mid afternoon on. We do apologize for the elevator, this is getting rectified and we do have additional elevators in the community.

My aunts are very happy
My aunts are very happy here.
The activities they have are plentiful and they love the food. They said the meals are unbelievable and it is served restaurant style. They have been doing so many cool holiday activities and they took them to go look at lights. They have something to do everyday and are always busy. The facility is very nice and has been a wonderful fit for them.
The issue I am having is with the billing department. They have had significant amount of turnover in that area so it has been difficult to reach out and get answers from anyone or pay the bills.
Overall I would recommend Merrywood on Park to others looking, it has been a Godsend.

A great Decision for My Loved one
I think that MerryWood on Park It is a great place. They take great care of my loved one. They are so empowering to the residents. It has been a great experience for my loved one.
My loved on likes meeting meeting people and becoming friends. That is one of the things we liked about MerryWood on Park.
My loved one is really engaged in the activities and there are a lot of them. She attends the parties and events that are held there at the facility.
The majority of the time the meals are great, but there have been times when they do a buffet and my loved one does not care for the buffet style meal.

A nice community but needs improvement
We are absolutely thrilled with the apartments on the independent living side they are extremely cozy, however they need to make some improvements with their staffing and meals. There is a select few staff members that are friendly but the kitchen staff can be extremely rude to the residents. The food is a hit or miss and the executive director is non communicative. They need to work on their follow through - their word is not good

Grateful resident
They seem to care bout your problems and want to help solve them. Their menu is so appetizing and different every day. The environment is so friendly and open. They really seem to put their residents first make us feel wanted. The staff are exceptional. I am very happy here so far and am pleased with my decision

I would say to check this community out. They have assisted living as well as independent care and so far my loved one is happy. They have activities like a gym, a rehab center, a t.v. room, a card room, a library and more for the residents to stay occupied in the community.

Good Place
There are some design flaws that make it difficult for residents with walkers and wheelchairs to get around their own apartments as well as the facility. They offer a lot of different kinds of activities such as violist coming in to perform, different clubs for things such as poker, corn hole, excursions throughout the city to go to museums and shopping, etc. The meals are good with a variety of options.

this community is an excellent place for your family member to be.
The rooms are good sized about 800 sq ft. The food is good but not as good as it was in the beginning.
They have made available a zoom meeting to see your loved one. They do hall parties, and hall bingo, and exercise routines for in your apt. They have had a great plan for covid and the communication is wonderful. They set up a plan and communicate what you need to do to come to visit.

Merry Wood On Park review
This community is very clean, and most of the staff members are great. It is a little higher priced, but during this time the maintenance guys have been great. The activities were very good up until COVID.

Happy with Merry wood
We chose this facility because of the proximity to our house, cost, and the initial visit went really well. Also, we really like that it is all inside. Some of the places we saw you had to walk outside to get to the dining area and other parts of the community. The room sizes here are very spacious, she is in a one bedroom and it is plenty of room for her. The food is very good, they have a lot of variety on the menu. I would say my favorite part about the community would be how they have handled COVID. They have handled it in an incredible manner. They keep us informed by email every week with what is going on inside the community.
