My wife thanks me for bringing her here
My wife has been at ActivCare for a few months now and I visit here often. I spend more time on my visits than I ever expected. My visits are often spent playing table games with much laughing and conversation around the table. I have also found myself singing along with a terrific entertainer who comes regularly.
My wife and I also spend much time chatting in either of the two gardens and enjoying the beauty and serenity.
My wife loves the staff, the food and her pretty room.
The staff, from management to caretakers, are friendly and upbeat. The common areas are always clean and fresh.
In effect this place has relieved much of my guilty and fear about the decision I made.

ActivCare Laguna Hills welcomes seniors to a memory care community with a warm, homelike atmosphere. The community is located near the coastline in the suburban area of Laguna Hills, California, which is less than 15 miles southeast of Irvine.
ActivCare Laguna Hills provides specialized memory care for residents in all stages of Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia, including hospice care. All care services are accompanied with long-term living accommodations. Highly trained caregivers and on-site licensed nursing staff provide round-the-clock memory care, including but not limited to incontinence assistance, diabetes care, and overall health monitoring. In addition to specialized training, caregivers undergo continuous memory care education programs to stay up to date on current practices. The community separates residents according to the stage of memory loss they are experiencing. In each of these five neighborhoods, residents can choose between spacious, modern private and semi-private bedrooms.

My experience as a daily visitor to ActivCare
over the past 6 months, I have visited activcare nearly daily and typically spend between 3-6 hours there. I have been there during shift changes, meals, special events and witness their everyday routines. I have become quite familiar with the front office staff, nurses, and aides that work with the residents. The front office staff are very approachable and always willing to address questions or concerns that families or friends may have. There is an LVN on duty during each shift who is available to answer questions regarding medications or medical needs. As a whole, the caregiving staff is excellent. They are routinely shifted between the different levels of care and get to know the residents by name and understand their unique needs. The relationship that develops between the care staff and resident is remarkable. When not at the facility, I feel comfortable knowing my friend is well cared for. I thank ActivCare for providing the care he needs and giving me peace of mind.

Friendly caregivers
My father has been at this facility for 6 months now. The caregivers are kind and attentive. Outside areas are safe and lovely to get fresh air. They have many activities and seasonal parties to attend. If you have concerns the staff are there to discuss and help you with whatever you need. Meals are good. Not great, but good.

A Lovely and Safe Place !!!
I have been so very happy with all the staff at ActivCare! [name removed] is fantastic, she is so efficient and caring. [name removed] the PA is really sweet and on the ball. She does a great job taking care of my Aunt's medical well being.
I drop in unannounced multiple times per week and have been very impressed by the activity and interactions by the staff with clients every time. Everyone there makes my Aunt and myself feel so welcome and secure. I am so happy we found this facility!!! Senior care is so very expensive everywhere, but this place is worth it truly.

COULD BE BETTER
There are many good things and good people at this facility but there is a lot of room for improvement. Some staff work hard and engage with the residents, some staff don't. Some residents are left idle for way too long. No comfortable seating for residents for long periods outside of their rooms.

Happy daughter!
My mom is with Active Care and it’s coming up on a year already and I can’t believe it went so fast but my mom is in very good health she is strong and capable of walking and communicating and she loves music and the entertainment that they bring in often. She can feed herself but If needed they are always there to help. [name removed] makes sure everything is going well and [names removed] keep the events fun and [names removed] are always there helping all the residents and getting them to and from meals and games and their rooms and bathrooms!

There's SOMEplace like home!
I am more than happy with the care my father is receiving at ActivCare. I am impressed with the interaction between the staff and the residents. Every resident is known by face and name and the caregivers genuinely pay attention to and interact with the residents. I am so appreciative of the little things the staff takes care of for my dad, even having little jokes with him that help him feel that he is truly known. I have witnessed numerous staff members engage with, encourage, laugh with, sing with, and even dance with residents. The fact that the staff are smiling and laughing with residents truly demonstrates that ActivCare can be just like home.

Excellent memory care facility
This is the second facility she has been in. ActivCare Laguna Hills, as a specialized memory care provider is better equipped and prepared to provide the appropriate services for dementia clients than a typical multi level provider of senior services that offers a memory care unit. The staff of caregivers are attentive and caring to her needs and requirements. The activities are plentiful and appropriate. The facility is new, clean and well equipped. She is comfortable and happy at ActivCare Laguna Hills.

Amazing facility and staff!! Grade A experience.
Choosing a facility to have one of your loved one stay can be challenging, but it ended up being the best decision for both my dad and my family.
He thrived here, enjoying the social activities with the other residents and the music. While it also provided our family some relief from day to day care taking.

Compassionate Attentive Facility
At 101 years old, mom quickly begin showing signs of dementia in the last 6 months of her life. Three years prior to that, she was still living in her own home with assistance from an outside agency in Long Beach. The agency no longer could provide the care mom needed so we begin to research a place close to our home and found Active Care. Initially it was very difficult moving mom from her beloved home, she was resistant and understandably angry, but the staff and administration was so supportive and reassuring, and as the oldest resident there, she was treated like Royalty, she certainly loved the attention.. The staff was wonderful and helped us with the necessary steps to place her on Hospice the same day she arrived, therefore she received palliative care round the clock. [name removed], the administrator, was especially supportive and kind. Mom passed away a few months later but we know she was ready and had been taken care of respectfully and with compassion.

Amazing Community!
I had been so worried about placing my husband in memory care, but I have been pleasantly surprised and so pleased with the care he's receiving. Particularly, the caregivers are so so kind and helpful and hard working. They treat every resident as if it were their parent or grandparent - loving and nurturing. Sometimes their care brings a tear to my eye.
The nurses are incredible, in tune with the resident's specific needs and supportive of their families.
I want to thank everyone at ActivCare for their loving support and care.

Such a Godsend
My mother is at the point where extra care is required. The process of finding a welcoming and caring place for Mom is so stressful. The staff were all so welcome and caring; explaining everything in as much detail a I needed. The facility clean and inviting. The activities have been a Godsend. She enjoys what she cares to and is actually doing better than I expected. The staff has really brought the best out of her. I am really impressed and also so much more relaxed. Thanks to ALL the staff.
