Your parents helped make you who you are, but what made them who they are?
A 2014 survey by Harris Poll and A Place for Mom found that 28% of adults do not feel like they know, or knew, their mother as well as they would like. Surveyed families indicated they want to know more about their mom’s ancestry, personal history, medical history, life advice and career highlights. It would be fair to assume there is the same interest about dads as well.
In addition to talking to our loved ones to get the information we’d like, one fun activity is to create do-it-yourself family trees to have a visual representation of your family history and to easily show your kids where they came from.
You’ve heard stories about your parents throughout your entire life. Discovering their personal history is a great way to feel connected. So, how well have you been listening over the years? Take our parents quiz and find out just how well you know you parents!
