Walk for Alzheimer’s Canada
For over 20 years, the Alzheimer Society of Canada’s Memory Walks have been the organization’s largest event. This year, the organization is launching a nationwide walk for Alzheimer’s Canada 2015 — and A Place for Mom is joining it.

Walk for Alzheimer’s 2015
According to the organization, there are 747,000 Canadians currently living with dementia, and in less than 20 years that number is expected to double to 1.4 million. As we still don’t understand the causes of the disease and have yet to find a cure, it is important to create as much support as necessary.
The Alzheimer Society of Canada says:
“We are excited to move forward with this new event across the country allowing us to raise more funds which will in-turn allow us to support more people across Canada who are facing Alzheimer’s and other dementias.”
Throughout June and again in January, walks for Alzheimer’s will roll out in over 120 communities across Canada.
“When you walk, you’re not just making a difference for someone living with Alzheimer’s, you’re also remembering a family member, friend or neighbour, making their memories matter,” she says.
You can participate in this year’s Walk for Alzheimer’s by finding a walk in your community, or by supporting your local Alzheimer society by donating online. A Place for Mom is walking in:
