This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. In total, there can be no more than 2 residents to a room. There must be one bath or shower for every 12 residents and one toilet for every 4 residents. Staff members obtain training in a number of areas. These areas include services provided by the community, the Montana long-term care resident bill of rights act, the use of the abdominal thrust maneuver, and basic first-aid. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to ensure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as health problems, ADLs abilities, cognitive patterns, and mood/behavior patterns. Public assistance is available through the Montana Medicaid Big Sky 1915(C) Waiver program.. .
