Assisted living communities offer a sense of community as well as personalized help. Assisted living communities frequently provide outings for social activity, care supervision, and aid with transit and appointments. Under certain circumstances, communities may offer respite, hospice, or dementia care. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as service plan identifies the individual’s need for activities, service plan identifies the individual’s specific needs for care, The service plan must be updated annually and following a significant change in health status, and A comprehensive written assessment that that describes prescribed treatments and medications that must be provided to the community prior to admission. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include reminding a resident to maintain his/her medication schedule in accordance with the prescription, proper training of direct care workers to handle and administer medications, and medication supervision and administration. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include Food must be prepared in accordance with the recommended daily dietary allowances of the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences National Research Council, three daily meals and snacks must be provided, and communities must provide medical nutrition therapy if prescribed by a licensed health care professional.
