When it comes to assisted living, Massachusetts has plenty to offer.
The most populous state in New England, Massachusetts features a distinctive blend of natural beauty and treasures of U.S. history, making the Bay State an exemplary retirement destination. The Berkshire Mountains in the western region are a convenient getaway for coastal residents around Cape Cod Bay, and the famously upscale islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard sit just off the state’s southern shores. As one of the country’s original Thirteen Colonies, Massachusetts is rich with early American historic sites like Plymouth and Salem. Within Boston there’s the timeless North End neighborhood, along with popular tourist spots like the USS Constitution and the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum.
Currently, A Place for Mom partners with more than 240 senior living facilities in Massachusetts that provide assisted living.
The median monthly cost of assisted living in Massachusetts is about $5,600.
Our loved one was only there for a short time but during that time this community was kept very clean. The communication with the nursing staff was a bit disjointed. It was pretty good value compared to other communities in the surrounding area. They offer a lot of care services, but we felt that we had to remind them to do certain services our loved one needed like giving them their medication or helping with their laundry.Read more

We chose Brookdale Eddy Pond East because of the location of the facility for family and I have friends who work with the industry and they all gave it big thumbs up. They were super responsive when I was searching, but they were a little pushy. The room size that she is in is adequate for her needs, they do have options on room sizes as well. The food is not always hot when served, and some foods are over salted. She is also diabetic and they have very few options for diabetic deserts, so I think they could provide more options there. I visited a few weekends ago and there was a fire in the building overnight. They handled it superbly and I was very impressed. I would highly recommend to others who are looking.Read more
