This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include communicating with the resident’s physician and pharmacy for prescriptions, reminding the resident to take medications, and opening the dosage packaging or medication container. Public assistance is available through state Assistance programs for Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
