Assisted living communities offer coordinated social events and apartment style housing as well as individualized assistance. The types of service provided often include help with ADLs. Residents may be kept under observation and assessment. Under certain circumstances, communities may offer continuing care, hospice, or respite. These include comprehensive nursing care, executing a minor regimen based upon a nursing diagnosis or as prescribed by a physician, physician’s assistant, chiropractor, dentist, optometrist, podiatrist, or nurse practitioner, scheduled transportation for community-based activities, and a nursing diagnosis. communities must consider residents’ personal preference meals may temporarily be delivered to the resident’s room.
