An assisted living community is a residential living community which offers support, assistance, and care to medically stable seniors who do not need skilled nursing care. Assisted living communities frequently offer outings for organized activity, care supervision, and support with daily activities. In some instances, communities may provide hospice, respite, or dementia care. In Illinois, the annual median cost for an assisted living community is around $50,040 . This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as assessment must be updated by a physician annually or upon a significant change in condition, evaluation of a prospective resident’s physical condition, provider must ensure that the resident and the resident’s representative, if any, are informed of the potential consequences of activities that the provider considers to pose risks to health and/or safety, and evaluation of a prospective resident’s cognitive condition. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include reading the medication label to residents, medication reminders, and observing the resident. Staff members obtain training in a variety of subjects. These areas include self-determination, reporting, abuse, and neglect prevention. The maximum occupancy is 1 residents per room. The minimum number of residents for this community type is 3. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every residents.
