An assisted living community is a residential living community which offers supervision, support, and aid to healthy persons who are not in need of skilled nursing services. Services provided often include support with activities of daily living. Inhabitants may be kept under monitoring and evaluation. Under certain circumstances, communities may provide hospice, nursing care, or respite. In Illinois, the annual median cost for an assisted living community is around $50,040 . The minimum number of residents for this community type is 3. There is a maximum occupancy of 1 residents per room. Staff members receive education in a number of subjects. These include: choice, disaster procedures, abuse, and privacy. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to ensure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as A comprehensive assessment, evaluation of a prospective resident’s psychosocial condition, assessment must be updated by a physician annually or upon a significant change in condition, and evaluation of a prospective resident’s cognitive condition.
