An assisted living community is a residential living community which offers supervision, support, and care to self-sufficient persons who are not in need of skilled nursing support. The services offered often involve aid with the activities of daily life. Residents may be kept under observation and evaluation. Under certain circumstances, communities may provide dementia care, respite, or skilled nursing. In Illinois, the annual median cost for an assisted living community is around $50,040 . Illinois has specific regulations related to this kind of community. The Illinois Department of Public Health licenses this community type. Staff members receive training in a variety of subjects. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as evaluation of a prospective resident’s cognitive condition, A comprehensive assessment, evaluation of a prospective resident’s psychosocial condition, and evaluation of a prospective resident’s physical condition.
