Assisted living communities provide organized living communities and aid to seniors who may need support with everyday activities such as mobility or taking medication. Services offered often involve support with the activities of daily life. Residents may be kept under observation and evaluation. Under certain circumstances, communities may offer continuing care, respite, or dementia care. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as medications, treatments, and other required nursing services, plan must include information about the resident’s problems and needs, plan must include types and frequency of services needed, and he program must be reviewed as the resident’s condition requires. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. There must be one bath or shower for every 1 residents and one toilet for every 1 residents. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include reminding residents to take medications, verifying, and medication administration . This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include disease prevention, wellness counseling, assistance with ADLs, and delegation of supervision of self-administered medications. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include communities must provide residents with three meals per day.
