Assisted living communities administer personal care, social opportunities, and oversight to individuals around 65 years of age or older. Assisted living communities commonly provide care supervision, chances for leisurely activity, and support with daily activities. Under certain circumstances, communities may offer respite, dementia care, or skilled nursing. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as he program must be reviewed as the resident’s condition requires, RN conducts consultation with the resident, medications, treatments, and other required nursing services, and plan must include information about the resident’s problems and needs. Public assistance is available through Medicaid 1915(c) waiver programs and through the non-Medicaid state-funded Connecticut Home Care Program for Elders. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include communities must provide residents with three meals per day. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include verifying, reminding residents to take medications, and medication administration . Staff are required to obtain training in a number of areas. These include: applicable regulations, 6 hours of annual in-service continuing education on topics, community policies and procedures, and aides must pass a competency exam.
