For those who love nature and the outdoors, Colorado Springs is a paradise. The city lies at the base of Pikes Peak and the Rocky Mountains, and their beauty is inescapable. Spectacular mountain views are visible from nearly every corner of the city. Garden of the Gods Park is likely the most popular destination, attracting over 2 million visitors every year. It consists of 21 miles of trails winding through majestic red rock formations and awe-inspiring scenery. Memorial Park, a community park in Colorado Springs, hosts a yearly hot air balloon festival known as the Labor Day Lift Off. Transportation

The public transportation system in Colorado Springs is operated by Mountain Metro Transit and consists of a bus system that operates 7 days a week through much of the city, often from early morning hours into the evening. Discounted fares are offered to seniors age 60 and above as well as persons with disabilities. Also affiliated is Mountain Metro Mobility, a transportation system designed to accommodate disabled persons who are unable to use the Metro bus system.
