Medicare was never billed, am I responsible for bill?

I'm receiving bills from a rehab center where my father was a few years before his death. That was 5 years ago and he died 3 years ago, they claim that the bill was never paid. I called Medicare and they stated there was no bill from that facility or any record of my father being there. Am I responsible for the bill if the facility never billed Medicare which would have paid for dad's rehab?

Unless you signed and agreed to be responsible for his bill then no, you are not. If you signed him in the facility as his sponsor they are prohibited from attempting to collect from you. Was an estate action opened after his death? If so, the statutory claims period has almost certianly expired. The charges would have most likely been billed to Medicaid not Medicare.
