What can I expect with Alzheimer's?

My 83 year old mother moved in with me a few months ago, last month she was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I was wondering if there are others caring for someone with dementia who can give me an idea of what to expect and maybe some helpful tips. Mom's memory is not horrible, it's more like confusion and anxiety.

If you haven’t done so already, I would suggest that you make contact with the Alzheimer’s Association at They provide information about how to keep your mother safe and activities to keep her mentally alert. They also provide caregiver sharing of problem solving ideas.
