How do I get help for building a wheelchair ramp?

I am trying to locate an organization that would help build a wheelchair ramp, I had a contractor, but was a little expensive, my parents are on a very low income. Need to have done soon...thank you

I have the same problem. I'm going to contact the college here where I live. Sometimes students will take on projects like this. Or churches. Let me know if you have luck.

Try your local disability resource center or google "help paying for home modifications" there are several links. hope this helps. there is also a Facebook group called Medical equipment Exchange DME or something like that....might find a long portable ramp that would work in the meantime? Those can be somewhat cheaper.

Look for the local Council on Aging office and they will often direct you to the correct resources! Your county services for senior citizens also can help as can your local community senior center..they often have access to a social worker specializing in senior issues! Hope this was helpful and good luck!
