What concerns you about the amount she is sleeping? Is she diabetic (that you are worried about her sugar)? Is she not sleeping at 'normal times (up at night), etc? If neither of these yet you are concerned speak to her physician.

That being said, I often refer to this article about sleep awareness:

I think her quality of sleep is more important than how much she is really getting. Maybe she is more restless at night and not sleeping soundly than you realize.

Just a few things to think about when you call and discuss your concerns with her physician.

Is she in otherwise good health?
My husband had Alzheimers, is declining and is on Hospice. I let hem sleep. He rarely naps during the day so if he does not wake until 8 or 9 am I just let him sleep. He rarely if ever sleeps past 9.
If this is a new change in her sleeping pattern you might want to check with her doctor just to make sure everything is alright.
