Will the VA cover the cost of my dad's medical equipment?

It depends on the type of VA program he is receiving - if Pension and he is receiving less than the full pension benefit - $1,788 for a single Veteran or $2,123 for a married Veteran, then he can submit the expenses as an Unreimbursed Medical Expense.
I will defer to otehr experts on the compensation side but believe if he needs the equipment because of his service connected disability there is a good chance the VA will pay for it.

The VA (Veterans Administration) has variety of programs regarding coverage or financial assistance for medical equipment. Medical equipment generally ranges from small tongue depressor to big machines. VA is essential to bill private health insurance providers for medical care, supplies and prescriptions given for the treatment of Veterans’ nonservice-connected situations.
