My Dad needs in home assistance with bathing and getting dressed, how do I find good safe help?

There are so many facilities in or near Leesburg Florida that offer home care help with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene, how can I be sure that I am choosing a safe, reliable, cost efficient one, that has a good reputation?

Your state’s Department of Health Services may have information available about the requirements and ratings of the various home care providers.

The local elder care ombudsman could also be of assistance for information. The state’s Department of Health Services can give information on your local ombudsman and their contact information.

You would want to make sure that you choose an organization that provides proper ongoing training and supervision of their caregivers. I suggest that you and your Dad visit a few of the companies that interest you.

Once an agency has been chosen, you can help your Dad by stopping by, unannounced, from time to time to meet the aides and observe how they treat your Dad. Also make sure that the supervisor makes visits to observe the care given by the aides and provides time for comments from you and your Dad, when the aides are not present.
